NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- An unidentified Canadian real estate company was the winning bidder for the Silverdome, snatching it up for a mere fraction of its original value.

A Toronto-based family-owned company bid $583,000 bid for the under-used stadium on Monday, which is currently owned by the City of Pontiac, Mich., according to auctioneer Williams & Williams.

$583,000 is a fraction of the $55.7 million it cost to build and the winning Canadian bidders plan to turn the Silverdome into a soccer-dome.

Damn. Detroit is beyond pathetic. Dumb niggas are just standing by and letting CACs and Kikes buy up prime real-estate at bargain basement prices.

The people of Detroit are getting everything they deserve.

The Silverdome is in Pontiac and ain't got a damn thing to do with Detroit.

Ummm, Pontiac is about 30 miles from Detroit. That's still considered the "Detroit Metro Area"

Anything within 30 miles of a XYZ major city is still consider part of XYZ city's metro area unless there is another major city it runs into.

(Aside - I never knew the Detroit Metro area had a Beverly Hills! How fucking hilariously ironic is that?!!!

Hell Beverly Hills cop could have a completely different plot - Axel would have never needed to go to L.A.)

It's not like the average cat could have gotten a $600K mortgage and bought the SilverDome. The operating costs for that shit are astronomical. The investors are looking to turn it into a soccer stadium, which I'm sure the city of Pontiac is hoping will bring in revenue from Toronto tourists and local soccer fans.

Annual upkeep was costing Pontiac 1.3 million.

This is located in Detroit.

Pontiac isn't Detroit..not even in the same county

And where did the Detroit Lions play before Ford Field?

And where did the Detroit Piston's play?

JUST OUTSIDE OF DETROIT - but they're still part of Detroit and their economy is connected to Detroit as much as you don't want to admit it. :smh:

Here -

Guess what, the Washington Redskins play at Fedex Field in Maryland - about 20 mins from the DC border, but it's still considered a DC Metro Area team.

The NY Giants and Jets play at the Meadowlands in a completely different STATE! But they're still considered a NY team.

Its called the Pontiac Silverdome, both the Pistons and the Lions leased the Silverdome from the City of Pontiac, Detroit did not get a penny from any event held at the Silverdome.

BTW, Pro sports teams have nothing to do with their city namesakes and are all privately owned organizations.

Except the Green Bay Packers.

Wow, granted the selling price doesn't take into account the annual upkeep costs, but still...DAMN. :smh:

Well fam, you know what has to be done (Sorry Detroit):

wait for it.....

Problem is the Property Taxes

Them canadians will have it back on the market in no time prolly make 10 mill or so in a couple years

Ok here's the deal. Maybe in Michigan it's different because y'allz boyz (lol if you get the reference) live there.

But FOR THE REST OF THE COUNTRY - Detroit Lions & Detroit Pistons and the Sliverdome are all associated with Detroit. Period.

No different that if some shit goes down in Westchester County - it's associated with NYC.

Or if some shit goes down in Northern PG County - it's by default associated with SE DC.
