Female Greek-Austrian guitarist Orianthi-Panagris of Michael Jackson "This is it"

I saw that movie yesterday... It is the usual Mchael Jackson of the last 25 years or so years...I always love to hear the song "I will be there", and the new "Planet" song is good...

For me, I think that after this weekend, Western music will fashion another superstar: the Greek-Austrian girl, Orianthi Panagris, who was a lead guitarist. Again to me, Wester music is creating another fake bill of sale. You people should know by now that I have a very low opinion of most these guitarists... Young Bob Solo, all 15-years of him, was much better at 12, than Orianthi Panagris is at 22. This is clearly a case of a one-eyed queen in the land of the blind....

If there was no Youtube.. you would be qualified to call me a liar... However, I believe that I have stated and proved my cases, repeatedly, far beyond a shadow of a doubt and there is no need for further discussion...

As jungle-fever smitten as most of you are, I hope I will not have to hear any talk of that substndard guitarist come Monday. Praise the movie for its excellent sound, ... do not tell me that Panagris did anything praiseworthy with that, ugly, noisy, Van Halen style, guitar she was abusing that fine instrument with...

Nigga stop hatin'. Even Carlos Santana said she'd be HIS first choice to pass the baton to, duke. This bitch is nice with hers on the guitar and quite 'beatable'. She's way thicker in 'This Is It' than she is in that pic right there of her. And MJ who has worked with the likes of Eddie Van Halen and Slash dug the bitch enough to put her on. That's what matter most. Mikes entire cast of dancers, musicians, singers, film crew... everybody was on point in the flick. You just sound like you're on some sour grapes shit, because this chick is White. C'mon son... Stop that.

I am not hating. I am stating the facts. In the West Carlos Santana is a great guitarist.. But that is in the West alone...The guitarists I bring to you are like sugar in the land where they have been sweatening the drinks with wild nuts, they are like a halogen lamp in the a land where they never known anything but oil lamps... They are like a canon to a land where people have fought only with spears. They are that much better than the others. You would have no problem making that statement about American basketball players, when compared to the rest of the world. The facts operate the same way in the world of guitar. Panagris would never get hired by any group in Kin with that nonsense she played yesterday..This is not a question of opinion, the evidence is all over Youtube. I do not care what Van Halen thinks, he is not Popolipo, he is not DeMukusse, he is not Nene Tshaku, he is not Diblo, so why are we even mentioning his name. We are talking about good guitarists only. Ok

No fuck that why are we comparing him to legends... He is not even Kimbangu, or Koko Nkiri...

She seems good to me but "passing the baton:smh::smh: there are plenty of jazz guitarist that would play that chick under the table.

They are lying to you: Here is young Kimbangu...

Werrason's instruction to him was "Beta nayo ya motema".. Ie, play from the heart, make it up...

This stuff is not rehearsed, he just massaged the instrument to make it cry to the people...This is the measure of a guitarist. Not that nonsense I saw yesterday where they will strum the guitar for 30 seconds and then the rest of the time the only thing you hear is the synth...

[what young Koko is doing] can goes on for hour, on songs that last 25 to 309 minutes.. This is the only video I am going to post because you have nothing to answer me with. You will try to drown me with the crap.. We want quality...

At Fikin, as above, the guitarists you are mentioning would be booed off the stage, like the great Japanais Malady was when he went after young Kimbangu..

**sigh** Fam, even Steve Vai picked her to open for his tour. HE thinks she's the shit too. Steve Vai. :hmm:

It is scratchy, noisy, non melodic, non rythmic. What do you do with this tortorous sound other than cover your ears and hide under a rock??? This is crap.

And plenty of other guitarists who can play those Jazz guitarists under the table. It's all subjective to opinion. Point is, Carlos Santana's opinion does carry weight. Much more weight than some dude hatin' on some racial shit.
They are lying to you: Here is young Koko Luxenborg...
What does Koko Luxenborg have to do with this chick earning the respect and and recognition that SHE has. She's doing HER. Koko's doing HIM. What does one have to do with the other, b?

You're comparing two totally different styles to eachother. That's like comparing Luther Vandross To Luciano Pavarotti. Only a fool would ask which of the two is the better singer. Dimebag Darrell was one of my favorite guitarists, but then so is George Benson: NO comparison. Just admit it... This is some racial shit.

They vote for these things. At the end of the year, they give awards for best guitarist. Someone has to be the best. Listen, it is bold for an African to say, I am the best at something other than long distance running. But the ears do not lie. When they have the Grammys, the award is to best male vocalist, regardless of genre... I am simply applying those rules.

I have no problem with anyone playing what they want. However, I am tired of these people thinking that what they have is the best the world has to offer. Please do not characterise her as victim. Listen to her, and listen to him. If you, think she, or for that matter Santana, Van Halen or any other guitarist is better than young Kimbangu....and you can prove it.. I will bring someone else; there are hundreds of guitarist far above the leve of this kid.

See it is like me, when I was in college, thinking the basketball players at my college in Africa were the best in the world when non of them had ever heard of any Alley hoop... They could not even defeat grade 9 players in the USA I am sure... It is the same way with guitar..

From about the 4:30 minute mark, there is an even younger guitarist, the 15-year old Bob Solo, who also eats Panagris alive... I rest my case...

What are you talking about, fam. This girl didn't take anything away from Koko or any other Black guitarist. All she's done to offend you his succeed at playing the guitar. And you're acting as though her success is somehow tantamount to the oppression of Black/African guitarists. There was no competition here. MJ had a Black guitarist on stage with this chick too. But SHE was signed and had a cd dropping that was already set to be released BEFORE she sign on to play for MJ. So what seems to be your problem, exactly, with this girl? How are you connecting the dots here? :dunno:

You have no case, b. :hmm:

She is white and western. Her sub standard stuff will sale... she will be rich. She was on the same stage as Michael Jackson, and therefore white people will have no problem calling her the virtuoso that she is not. Kimbangu above is not a virtuoso. Many years, and much more skill will be required before he becomes a master of the instrument like Popolipo... And if he has the ability to go higher, one day he might aspire to the heights of the gods like Papa Lutumba Simaro or Papa Noel Nedule... But that could be decades from now..

I am simply proving that she is below an entry level African guitarist.

Now that you know this, when they say that Jean Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Steven Segal are the best Kung Fu artists in the world, tell them that you have been to China, and you have seen many people there who are better than Bruce Lee...

You have no case, b. :hmm:

My case is water tight, open and shut. You yourself have posted the damning evidence. Everyone can hear for themselves what Orianthi is playing and what Kimbangu is, and see for themselves that it is an insult to compare her to him. The girl is below par and they would retrain her for a long time before they risked the shame of showing her on a Zairian stage...

There it is... Your whole argument in a nutshell. Case closed.

You are afraid of discussing the actual playing ability. I said Carlos Santana is not a great guitarist by the standard of where I come from... How does that fit your deduction that my argument is exclusively about race and origin? I am talking about the technical merits which you are loath to address....

...Even Carlos Santana said she'd be HIS first choice to pass the baton to, duke. .....[/MEDIA]

What baton is this that he wants to pass???? This is the point of my thread, the notion that the baton is his to pass? Who told him such a thing? Why does he think that his ignorance of other guitarists is evidence of his superiority? Of course when I make these threads and prove that he is talking nonsense, you start saying there is no need to judge. B when you accept such pronouncements as this, it means you have accepted a judgement... If you did not say Carlos Santana was carrying a baton, I would not take the trouble of posting guitarists who are better than Carlos Santana.

You made the claim as if it is accepted fact, and I disproved it. Orianthi and Carlos Santana are not going to be exchanging batons because there is no baton to exchange between them.

Subjective! Being the key word. Carlos is bad but is he the best to be passing a "baton" to this chick? She seems very average to me. She can't fukk with Ernie Isley or Prince or countless other Jazz guitarist I listen to. You may no other guitarist who will play a jazz guitarist under the table but she ain't one of them. She's nice with it but that's about it.

Now explain how anything you just said is relevant to this woman's success. She has to be the hands down undisputed 'best' guitarist in the history of guitarists to avoid the baseless hate she's getting in this thread? There is NO such thing as a best guitarist ever. I've heard people say Ernie Isley was average and Prince was 'pretty good, but no [insert another guitarist here]'. It's all subjective to opinion. And in MJ's opinion, she deserved to play with him. Now cats are poppin' up saying she doesn't deserve what she rightfully earned, as though she earned it at the expense of better deserving African guitarists. That's absurd. The race angle on this shit is wack. And the skill critique is subjective. But what does any of that have to do with this chick earning (with her clear talent as a guitarist/artist) an opportunity for herself that she was fortunate enough to benefit from greatly? What's the point? :dunno:

I was trying to figure out where all the hate was coming from for some chick most have never even heard of...then I saw who started this thread.

She is just average as a guitar player. Is she not? Are you trying to say that she is the best, cause it sure seems like you are trying to say that? Her success IS because she is white and FEMALE in a male driven profession. I could name 10 guitarist of the top of my head that she couldn't hold a pic too! Not that she doesn't have talent because she does! You can hear that but to say that she gets the baton based on her talent is just ridiculous.

The bitch is better than average. It's irrelevant how above average she is... She auditioned like everyone else and got the job. And how does it 'sure seem like' I'm trying to say she's the best when I've repeatedly stated there's no such thing as a 'best' guitarist? That distinction is totally subject to opinion. Your opinion that she's successful because she's White and female is yet another subjective opinion. So what? Carlos Santana toured with her and subsequently said HE would pass HIS baton to HER. What does any of that have to do with YOU or the 10 other guitarists HE did not choose to pass HIS baton to? You cats are lookin' real silly in here, trying to make something outta nothing.

Dude, if she wasn't a white female the post would not have been made!

just my observation here. i have watched a lot of african clips from Congo rdc. I have to say that good musicians over there are like hot cake. its like playing professional football. you go to the best team (in this case best band) I also have to say guitarists from Congo are very talented. but i doubt if they will fit in western type of music. kepp up the education though !!!!

Dam......
I got to ride wit The OP on this shit!!
And you don't have to go to The continent or Brazil or wherever to
see what he's talkin about....It's players in Hoods all around The US that prove his point......

No disrespect to Carlos Or Van Halen.....But they were not the creme de la creme even in their heyday!!

Fact is every white Rock Guitarist since Jimi hendrix have been chasing him and have failed...I mean I enjoyed listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Eric Clapton.....But Are they the greatest....I don't think so...even in the Western World...
As regards The Race Issue...You dam skippy...Do you think for one minute Cacs have stop trying to outdo us at our shit? No....
But we so dam liberal and shit we go way not to appear as tho we are racist or even color concious...

I had a problem wit Robin Thicke beingn catapulted to the level of a RnB singer.....when all he had ever done prior to his shit wit Pharrell was corny white boy shit......I even went to myspace and put up links to a bunch of artist who blew rings around him......Niggas here had NO comment.....
They were so inundated by the shenanigans of the Media they would not even acknowledge the truth!!

This girl has minimal talents on The guitar....But she is a cac with blonde hair and some might find attractive......

The ideal type to be crowned the new Guitar Beast by the media....

Anybody that thinks that shit really is that hot has not listened ...and or had the ability to critique a real Guitarist!!

Personally I believe India Aire got better chops ....she just don't swing wit the Rock thing.....

lol, debating anything that involves two races on here is a waste of time.

Maybe Because you always gonna have opposing points a view even before a specific example is illustrated....
Plus people on the inside....Musicians ,producers...et all by their very nature see the shit different than a detached consumer....But Yo the truth is the Truth.....

Dude, if she wasn't a white female you wouldn't have made the post!
The Hell is you talkin' about, b? I'm not the OP.

The truth is the OP is hatin' on this broad for being a White woman gaining success as a guitarist. How dare she grind out and succeed, not being a superior African guitarist? :hmm:

She could barely rock w him !!!! She stood in rehersal in the wrong places, on the steam blowing up MJ had barely any of it.... he had to ccoach her to solo... i as laughin.
