Well, that's why a lot of people select HBCU's. So they won't have 200 people in their classes. Where the professors know the students name and they have personal interaction.
I didn't want to go to a school where I might see a hot chick on campus, and not see her again for another two years.

I'm not going on the opinion of this board because none of you attend Hampton right now. But if their only argument is that she does not attend the main campus (online schooling or satellite learning) and no one knows her, how is she chosen to represent a school that she herself does not know? I think thats a valid argument.
BUT If she is being discriminated on based on her color, then thats totally wrong and should have no place on that campus. HBCU's are far from being only black. She could be all white. If she won, she won.

Especially when you have bigger issues that exist within the Black community. This is extremely petty and a reflection of many of those who attend HBCUs looking for a segregated education in a post-Civil Rights world.
They're mad because the conservative nature of most HBCUs is changing and being redefined. If the shoe was on the other foot many of these same people would be calling foul. Just goes to show that prejudice isn't solely a white commodity.

4.) The students did not vote for her. She was elected by a panel of judges. The Miss HU pageant feeds into the Miss America pageant. It sounds to me like she was looking for a backdoor way into the Miss VA pageant.
5.) Non-black people have been chosen to represent the school before, but they attended the school from freshman year, and were actively involved on the main campus, and genuinely seemed to know and care about the school. There are plenty non-black people at Hampton... well maybe not plenty, but they are definitely there, and they pledge BGLOs, run for office, and are involved in the school social scene. Nobody even knows who this chick is. Supposedly, she has yet to even attend a football game.
Also, I heard her platform is weak, and that she wasn't even a strong contestant but I can't verify that for sure. I for one, know that there are MANY qualified BLACK females at HU who could very well represent a historically black university, this thing is suspicious and sounds like a publicity stunt.

She's not white and she did meet all the qualifications. She was a student in good standing, grades and financially speaking. You do not have to live on campus to participate. If she didn't meet the qualifications she would not have been allowed to participate in the first place.
