Writing Contest: 2
Looks like people are interested in this contest so I'm going to host the second contest.

Length: 1-3 pages long. (500 - 2500 words)
Deadline: Midnight, October 4, 2009(members will vote for 48 hours after that.)

Genre:Fiction
Theme: Apocalyptic
Subject:Your character must tell how his/her world came to be and it must be with supernatural beings or creatures(Think "World War Z" and "The Walking Dead").



Format:The format will be the same as last time but if your new it must be a .pdf or .doc

Players: (We'll stop at either 8 players or at midnight Saturday night with the entries)

Not a bad idea.

I'm actually going to sit this one out. I started classes again this week so am a little busy. I'll happily read and critique all the entries though! Post-apocalyptic style stories are by far some of my favorite so I'll be looking forward to reading them all!

You know? Man we are going to have enough stuff to write novels by just expanding on these. I already have 1,100 words for this one. This is waking up the sleeping writer in me.

I will try to make my short story clear since it will be part of my novel book I'm writing....I wont give a lot of information due to the book not done.

I'm damned near done with mine. Next week my job has an inspection so I don't know how much I'd have been able to work at it next week or how my mind will be once I get home.

I'll be reading.

I've been reading a lot of erotica lately from different forums on the net including here and its inspired me to write.

I know, da fuck does erotica have to do with.... I'm just saying that this genre has inspired me to put my thoughts on paper which I have never done in my life.

To me, sex or past sexual encounters and/or fantasies are very very vivid in my head and it doesnt seem like a "task" for me to put it on paper. I dont consider myself a literary or very good with words but the shit I've written thus far has suprised the hell out of me.

I say all of that to ask this. How do you become a good writer? How do you arrange your thoughts in your head and make them a story? What steps should I take to become better at desribing and illustrating my thoughts?

I'll probaly start a thread about this later but I figured since I'm already in this thread.
