i may not agree with the person, but i have to agree with the words.
here, this is my position on this whole thing:
many of us have been here for years on top of years. "If" there was no monthly fee you'd still be here. why? because you like the place. yeah, sure, you can get anything that you find on here anywhere else, but you won't find the atmosphere anywhere else that you do here. and nobody can tell me otherwise.
so when the owner states to keep this running he needs to switch to a yearly payment system it's like all of a sudden folks feel like their being screwed. why? even if the situation was hnic turned this into his sole source of income, why bail then? if you liked it yesterday you'll still like it tomoworrow. And what kills me is the fact of the severity/quickness of how people turned "just like that"
if this was a jewish, indian, asian, whatever and members have been here that long and the same scenario occured i'll bet good money that it would still be "business as usual", because it's something they enjoy/believe/support whatever word you want to use.
but no, we as black people...gotta rebel, gotta complain, gotta fight for rights on matters that shouldn't take precedence before actual problems. i said it before black supporting blacks...nonexistent. this whole thing is a perfect example of it. many so stuck on free yet you forget, nothing in life is free. you should be thankful that it was able to go that long...in this day n age. yeah sure there are tons of sites that are free......but over the years how many have we seen come and go trying to emulate this site, and where does everyone end up right back at?
so yeah, all this to me is basically folks saying "this wasn't shit to begin with, i was just here"
