Playboy is just outdated. When brohammus posted a bunch of passes for Playboy Plus the other night, I found beautiful women to click on but I found myself wishing they had been posing for Hustler instead.

It IS, and always has been, a CLASSY (and classic) men's magazine. Always had the BEST photography of women (nude and otherwise) in the world.
Penthouse and Hustler chose to go the crude, crass and vulgar route in order to provide a contrast. They succeeded on their own terms (though not long term).

I think that's a big difference. It's about what the picture says, as much as the content. Certainly women see it as a big difference, and ole Hef' ability to make women comfortable is legendary, to say the least.
One is the simple beautiful female form, playful. Hints somewhere between innocence and naughtiness.
