I don't think people really understand the magnitude of this place...back in the day, if you googled (or netscaped) up "black sex" or "black sexy girls" or whatever - THIS site was on top. every single time, for a VEEERY long time...

I been DJCandle on here since 98. The reset fucked up all the stats on here though. I spoke to HNIC about it but he said that the 2004 dates are as far back as he could go with proof.

Hells yeah... I had Netzero. The shit was free but you had banners all over your screen. Used download managers like filezilla to resume the shit when I got the random kick offs.

Was lurking for awhile in 2000...I was all up in UVP and UGGH before I came on here in 2003. The board reset and I said fuck it. UVP went down and UGGH became the epicenter of bitchassness and I came over here.

Esco was on some linear type mind game shit. He obviously peeped a post of mine where I mentioned how much pride I took in my physical apearences and worked out a lot. So tried to play reverse psychology or something. I think he believed the shit himself after a minute, and that's when I knew ole boy was a loon...
Shit got so heated with us at one point that he used to lurk my profile. He would see my VIEWING a thread and post an arbitrary diss at random. It was wild, because he was talking shit to me in threads where I hadn't even posted.
Back in the days prior to Esco losing his mind there was a lot that drew me in to BGOL. The Darth creativity and humour, the PMG postings, SplackavelieX and his porn posts, TEN and Manny just being the basically cool and brilliant posting cats they are, and a very, very active artistic scene in the Sig section. BGOL was the board that launched a thousand boards and each of those a thousand more...

Man, whatever, he didn't make sigs, he jacked them from other boards and put a new name on them. I tried to teach that idiot how to make sigs and he couldn't get it.
He had his funny moments, but then turned sad when he couldn't get his way and tried to destroy the board.

This is the man that brought me to BGOL in my lurking years.
H-Funk had a Yahoo group way back that I joined to get my good stuff, then somehow from that I got a link here.
I visited off and on for a couple of years, then finally came back and joined on 9/11/2002 for the discussion (something idiotic pissed me off enough to post).
Within my first week, I dissed Duke with some Martin Lawrence/Big Mamma pics that started my rivalry with him and got me and Darth Harlem cool and both destroying him.
Blunt was contentious back then but used to actually post porn, and had a thread bigger than slam's. We used to get into it constantly. Something about me used to set her off (didn't like someone on the board who actually knew what they were talking about).
TEN was the man with tech stuff before I was here, but I gave a lot of info and posting tips too. I took it a step further and started the Tech Forum and became a mod within my first year. Joined in with the then dead Sig forum and taught a lot of people the basics (as I was learning too).
Got into more beefs with people like Esco, made new ways to post pics and music, founding member of The Commission (we're still here), helped start an offshoot board that became it's own thing, and on and on.
When HNIC decided to move to vBulletin, I offered my services, since I had experience running this type of board, and that's how I became the first admin, other than him. I created the vB codes for posting audio and video (those icons at the top right of your message posting window) so no one would have to learn the HTML codes. Other boards tried to woo me away when they saw those, but I stayed put until now.
Now THAT's some good history.
One of my boys from college would always be telling me about this board he would watch free porn on. Naturally, I'm interested so he drops me this site called Black Girl Online. This had to be like early 2000. The sh!t was ad central on the homepage then. I was wondering how in the hell I could NOT be looking at the same chics. However, I loved the sample videos on the front page.
I was on from time to time. I was new to forums on the web period so for some reason I had no idea I needed to get a username and password and join the fun. Duke is the most memorable cat I remember from those days. So, I'm lurking, viewing but rarely downloading in the beginning.
What really drew me was the immense amount of information on African, Black American, and religious history. I knew nothing about bookmarking then and lost a LOT of info that way. Porn included, especially from EBT. My dumbass was D/Ling porn AT WORK. I was addicted. I was even staying after work just to watch it because I did not have a computer at home. I knew I was going to get fired and pick up a porn addiction.
I never ran into download issues because I was always downloading from a T1 line.Anyway, I finally got started posting. I was really nervous in the beginning because I saw what happened to newbies if they didn't understand the rules of engagement. So far, I have been here without incident. Don't know if that is good or bad but it has worked out for me so far. This has become like a second family to me. Long live BGOL!

Put onto the board around 2002-2003. Finally registering to login and post when someone asked about buying a guitar to learn how to play. Mostly lurked on and off w/out ever logging in. Dial up was a bitch but the PMG's, Darth's comedy, and ChuckG vids etc. made it bearable. Couldn't login w/username for a min but still occasionally lurked. 2006 was able to setup same old username. The BOARD has progressed nicely over the years, definitely been a plus to know about it
