1) He says Do not blame someone else..
2) Then he blames African leaders and black American fathers

He decries the empolyment of blame by the victims, but employs blame to castigate the victims

If he thinks blaming the victims is simply apportioning responsibility, his absolving of the white people who are the root of the problem leaves an incomplete and dishonest equation in which blame is selectively assigned..

In time, people will make this deduction and turn off the quixotic and ineffectual ranting of "The One"

I will comment on number 2. African leaders are to blame, geez that is not rocket science. Have you been to africa? Walk down the street of any african city and ask the people themselves who they blame.

It's pointless my man. This will fall on deaf ears.

I hope you're being sarcastic...

Obama will never go to Wall Street and call them on their bullshit. Lets see him go tell Monsanto what their evil policies are doing to the third world. Lets see him go tell the IMF to stop raping the 3rd world with their policies. He won't do it because he's a puppet who they put up to fool people. Its brilliant really - get a guy with black skin, african roots and church swag he jacked from a real revolutionary (Reverend Wright) to sell the wars and economic slavery of a morally bankrupt system.

It's pointless my man. This will fall on deaf ears.
People on this board don't listen. They're too cowardly to handly criticism so they, without reason, call you a sellout or a racist. They are intellectually incapable of defending from criticisms.

African Americans have leaders? Who are they?

But to the subject, the comments matches it. He is now playing a politician. He so far blamed black fathers due to his lacking one on Mothers day, gave black men another tough love speech on fathers day. And now went to an establishment which was created by WHITES WHO INVITED BLACKS IN historically to give yet another tough love speech... yet doesn't account for the same issues which are being blamed.

Can you elaborate more on this point

Yup..it's still the white mans fault  what the fuck..that's a given..so deal with the shit and overcome, one way or another..life isn't fair ! not for baby seals, stray kittens or humans - nobody ! Man the fuck up, face the everyday challenges of life and take responsibility for yourself, family and friends and if you can help your fellow man. Fuck this victim bullshit. Can't say I don't feel empathy for certain situations, but hey that's the way of the world.

So you want The President of the United States to blame white people for the problems in the Black community?

That would never work politically.

And it's illogical given that the Black community could be achieving at a much higher level than it is, even despite the racism that it has to deal with.

Because African Immigrants and other Black immigrants seem to be doing extremely well in the racist US system.

Primarily because they work hard and don't let racism, which is is not even close to as severe as it used to be 30 years ago, stop them from achieving.

So using racism as an excuse for failure just doesn't work anymore.

He wants to blame black people for not taking personal responsibility.

Yet, he got enough votes from black personal responsibility to get his ass elected as President.

What an asshole.

Is it possible that both sides are wrong? That maybe "some" blacks are not taking responsibility for managing their lives and being productive members of the community and society? How the fuck does africans and carribbean peoples get off the fucking boat and become sucessful coming from worse cases of poverty, violence, and racial injustice and cats born here in the most wealthiest country can't even graduate from middle school?

Exactly.

They should be ashamed that they've been here all their lives and can't achieve what immigrants do in less than 10 years.

At this point i think most know that the original evil was white colonialism, enslavement and its fruit. At this point whats pointing the finger at the obvious gonna accomplish? They are still in power and if we are foolish enough to think that they will assist in correcting thier evils then we are even more doomed than i thought. The only answers and resolutions lay within. In order to effectuate change we must hold one another accountable. This is what i take fro Obama's tough love talk.

Oh, and he's right about African leaders and dictators as well. As long as they continue to whore themselves out to the highest bidding european power while starving and killing their people, nothing will change. Got Mobuto?

It's pointless my man. This will fall on deaf ears.
As will crys about the evils and fault of the white man.

That is true... he is a politician after all. No changes which were made directly affect African Americans, who were the largest voting constituent in his corner

It is true, both are to blame, but if you say a speech on the issue full disclosure should be the requirement to start a movement, not half of the situation. It is also a generalization that immigrants all come to the US and become successful as well.

Now, who are 'Black' Americans? Why do people reduce you to a color and not like other people adopt their nation, culture, or nationality which they hail from? Why chose their insult for us and call us 'black'? Black is a color and not a people. When I see an off-white eggshell looking dude with polka dots, then I should be able to find a 'black' man.

Speaking as one of those people, we were not convinced through our upbringing that white people are on some level we should aspire to be on.

We were taught NOT to be like the white man while AA are taught to aspire to be like the white man.

We were taught to sacrifice for the greater good because the battle is still going on, AA are taught that the fight is over.

We were taught that slaves fought and died for freedom not some man called Lincoln giving it.

We have African religions to ground us.

We have extended families to support the child rearing process.

In short, we have a separate culture that is NOT American that renforces family that allows us to prosper IN the system without being a part OF the system.

;)

This differentiation. The subject matter I'm cool with, calling our people a color I'm not, and the separation of the African Americans and simply calling them black I'm confused.

1) He says Do not blame someone else..

When did he say this? Please post the quote. Obama conceeds a lot of unfair things happened in the past but that does not preclude one for taking personal responsibility for his life. You can only blame others for so long. At the end of the day, you are the Architect of your fate.

He did not absolve white people. He always recognizes the inequities of the past, but at the same time, the only thing will make a difference is the victims taking meaningful action. America with all its fault, is still the easiest place in the whole wide world for a black person to make it. So anybody in America that attributes inability to be successful to the white man is simply delusional.

There is simply no other place in the world that affords more opportunity to black people than the current America. Ask the UK blacks or the Brazilian blacks..

Damn right.

Most of the movement here is to be recognized as equals of the Anglo, which was different before the Civil rights movement albeit harder racism wise for they were able to attack directly, but we relied on our community and self reliance to get the job done. After our mingling, our social economic condition went down faster than the Indians who accepted the blankets filled with small pox.

We need to return to ROOT or modify our conditions in this country.

Agreed.

I'm just being honest and real about it...No bill cosby looking down at people but I affirmly believe from the day you are born even in this fucking country, you are responsible for managing how you live your days. Your time is more valuable than gold, dollars, euros, and pussy. So if you spend it being unproductive then blame yourself....No white man walked up on me handed me a kilo of cocaine or told me to go raw in some bitch or shoot at other brotha's on the corner....either control your days or someone else will...fact

It's a shame this is a topic and shows the honkey still looks at us as little children who need to be taught how to act.

You poor black people don't know how to act. Us good white folk will show you the way, with the President as our messenger.

Now, get to the back, while us good white folk handle your business.

No, the problem is not all Anglos, most of them are oblivious to the situations of cause and have no use in the speech. I do agree, he is now a snake oil salesman... I mean politician.

It is not illogical that the community is in the shape that it is. It is exactly where it is supposed to be under the conditions set.

Racism in America has taken an indirect approach since the civil rights movement, it has not in any way change. The stereotypes have always been enforced and message negative. It hasn't got worse, the tools used have become more effective and macro in use.

But Racism as you said shouldn't be an excuse for putting in the work and doing everything you can in the positive light and being a good standing citizen. This is our Republic based on birth and laws of the Republic should be followed.

c/s... Obama wont address the other side of the equation, which is white supremacy... He's cool with standing up in front of Black audiences and "telling it like it is", but he fails to tell anyone else "like it is"... thats my issue with it... tell it all, or shut the fuck up.

You shut the hell up. The message is for your own good.

If it wasn't for tha white leaders bribing tha African leaders and tha white companies and governments supplying tha African leaders and rebels with weapons on tha low then tha corruption and violence wouldn't be at this level.I wish he would have addressed that.

And he needs to address how tha inner cities got tha way they did.
I do agree that it is up to us to try and make things better.Tha Democrats that Black people help get into office do not give a damn about our struggle.Tha government does not give a damn about Black people. If a foreign white country can start a war with another country they are no match for and get their asses handed to them and receive a billion dollars to help them rebuild and tha inner cities are damn near a battle zone and torn down with broken schools after decades and all they get in return is get ignored by tha government then that tells you something.

IDEA (just an idea) How about you go make your valid points a more stronger statement with a more political stage, or even a class room. Something other than a "porn" message board with a user name. In this way, you won't have to worry about cowards, racists, etc. because the critics and the co-signers will be apart of the audience. Just an Idea.

More porn please, I have to go to work soon. ( I never hear this shit on the white folks porn board) joke.
