I cut my own hair but I give props where props is due. He is nice with the razor. I dont mess with the razor like that.

i dont know why, but that my shit. some dudes like fixing cars, or cooking i like shopping heads. i dont have dudes skills. i want to go to school for it once im finished with my asters.
he did a good job but damn it could cut my own hair i would never let mine get to the point where his was. I would be trimming and lining myself up every 2-3 days.
wish i could cut my own hair but i cant go weeks/ months with weak cuts while i learn on myself...
any of you brothas good at lining the back? i always half do it or fuck it up?
co-sign. I started cuttin my own hair earlier this year. I had been lynin myself up for about 3 years prior. I fucked my shit up the first two times (cuttin the back aint no hoe and had to wear alot of hats for a minute. But now I'm really good wit the shit, to the point where I probly wont fuck wit barbers anymore. Hell, I line myself way better than sum barbers I know.
Its very unforgiving.
You just have to get a feel for know the correct
angle and pressure to use.
Practice on your leg or arm first, cause you will
have some miscues,.. and you don't want to have

See, one half of my face & head would look different from the other. That's why I shave ALL my shit off. I line up my goatie with the edge & corner of an envelope using a pen to make sure my shit is squared up. Then I wash the ink off. If I fuck up, I shave my goatie off. I like my shit perfect.

Yeah dat's nice. See when i was at skool in flowida i had dis dominican cat cut mah hair, and he always used to line me up witta razor. Always came up out dat shop lookin crisp as fuck. Cats used to always ask where i got mah shit hooked up at.

I've been cutting my own hair for years. It takes about 20 minutes more than it would take at a barber - but I'm putting $25 back in my pocket every 2 weeks that I would have spent at a barber, so to me it's worth it.
Anyone can do this, but you're going to zeek yourself a few times during the learning process so be ready to just go low ceaser all around when you do.
It should take you about 10 cuts before you have the process down for yourself pretty solid enough. The key is to make sure in the beginning to use measuring devices! Don't trust your eye - you haven't been trained yet.

I've been doing mine for 14 years (I'm 29), but I keep my shit simple. I leave it at 3mm or 6mm, and nothing fancy.

i've been cutting my own hair for over 10 years. i messed up a lot at first but you get better after a while. the guiders help him not cut too deep so that's no big deal. i've never tried a straight razor but i think imma give it a try.

lol finally someone read the not so fine print. dude has skills but trust he is a master barber. I got 21 yrs in and its funny that cats think they can reach this level after a couple of attempts.
please bruthas, no problem in learning how to cut your own hair and saving some chips in the process, but dont hang your local barber out to dry!
