I just need to vent before I scream...
I know in these "hard times" we should be grateful that we even have jobs, however the rampant bullshit that has to be dealt with is becoming increasingly unbearable.
Back story:
I was 20 mins late to work today due to an accident, a big ass truck was flipped over causing delays. I called my supervisor to inform her (protocol) that I would be late due to unforeseen circumstances. When I got to work she says well we need to know how you are going to make up your deficient time. She asks me to complete a Leave Request Form and give it to her. So I do the form, saying that for the time I was late I will forgo my afternoon break.
She calls me into her office to inform me that its not possible to exchange the time, and I must charge the time to either my vacation, personal holiday, or administrative leave days.
I'm looking at her like
It's not even physically possible to charge less than 1 hour. Her response, true, but you an accumulate it. I'm like that is a huge inconvenience for when we do our end of the year time report, and now that means we have less control over how to use our days and time because now we have to leave days to account for things we have no control over? I say to her I do NOT agree with this method but as it stands that I have no choice, what can I do. You would think that I work at some rinky dink ass bullshit job and not the fucking State University. The largest university in the state. And this is NOT University policy, this is our bosses bullshit ass micro-managing control issue shit. And then we have the nerve to NOT get our annual pay increases that we are entitled to due to our union contracts this week.
If one more person tells me I should be grateful to have a job, I swear I'm spazz out on them.. I really am...
Sorry.. I really just had to vent!
