I'm cool with VA/medicare because it doesn't affect my insurance.
Nationalize health care does.
Right now we are in a recession. A "stimulus" recession I might add. Businesses will drop beneficial health care because NOW we have National health care. I mean why should businesses keep paying for health care when the government is paying for it?

OR WalMart will make a gang of $$$ from no-bid govt. contracts to provide prescription drugs and other cut-rate medical solutions. Govt. healthcare is gonna be so damn expensive because of inefficiency & incompetence.
Govt programs never help the people seeking the assisstance, it only benefits the establishments providing the service!
I wanna go on record and say: Provide our troops anything they need

Government health care will be MORE efficient than private insurance. No over paid executives, no grandiose office complexes. The government will deal directly with drug makers which will ensure the lowest prices for drugs. UnitedHealth CEO William McGuire has accumulated options presently worth more than $1.5 billion at the same time UHC is canceling policy holders over minor claims. We have the most expensive health system in the world and 45 million people are uninsured. If the private sector can do it better, why aren’t they? Just another corporate hustle.

The private sector isn't participating because there is too much govt. regulation. The interference from the FDA & CDC has shifted us from prevention-based medicine to a treatment-based model, even you have to admit that, in itself, contributed to higher costs. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

If you or I try to buy, say some medicine from a drug company, we cannot get the same deal as a purchaser buying thousands, may be millions of the same drugs. The costs inherently will be reduced.

The only thing I'm going to say, and I'm going to end this subject.
I'm against nationalizing anything for obvious reasons. Not to mention, I work for the Government, and I see what type of wasteful crap they pull. So, if you believe in nationalizing as much as you can, then fine do it. When people start complaining about the "service" you are going to get, remember that you are paying for what you get. You pay nothing, you get nothing. So, let's just wait and see what happens.

People are complaining now. We spend the most on health care and we still have to wait for appointments and fight with insurance companies to pay for this or that. Competition will lower prices. Economics 101!

It was a bubble that left the country in debt. The economy actually never recovered from the dot com recession. It was a credit card, fake housing, and consumption recovery. Remember the US Economy thread? Now the markets are at Clinton administration levels. I’m interested in long term sustained growth across all economic sectors. Not concentration of wealth for the already fabulously wealthy. You should understand this. You are not going to get wealthy working for the government, unless you end up being a lobbyist.
