A 2nd Stimulus?

July 7 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. should consider drafting a second stimulus package focusing on infrastructure projects because the $787 billion approved in February was “a bit too small,” said Laura Tyson, an outside adviser to President Barack Obama.

The current plan “will have a positive effect, but the real economy is a sicker patient,” Tyson said in a speech in Singapore today. The package will have a more pronounced impact in the third and fourth quarters, she added, stressing that she was speaking for herself and not the administration.

I don't agree with this at all. We cannot consider a second stimulus until we see how the the first one pans out. All I've read previously has been that we need to give this first one more time to kick in. So why have I been seeing more and more stories on a possible 2nd stimulus? :hmm:

Yea can’t wait to purge more obstructionists out of congress. The party of "no."

BTW, I shut you down with your allegation that Obama was in campaign mode. No Faux Snooze retort to consult with that one.

notice that he didn't comment on the "thought" approved stimulus plan.

Didn't ABC just run a political infomercial about nationalize health care for Obama?

I know you hate to read, but if you go back over my posts, I said the original package was too small. And after it was watered down by corporate interests, like weakening the American only requirement it will not work as well as designed. However less than 25% of the money has been allocated and it has only been 3 three months since it has been enacted. I don’t understand the republicans claiming that it is not working yet. The republicans want us to be patient on the Iraqi war, even though it had been 7 years since we attacked them, longer than WWII. It took 30 years for the corporate interests to fuck up the economy, the GOP is expecting President Obama to clear things up overnight.

Since you are going to repeat yourself, I will repeat myself.

If you claim President Obama’s Q&A was an “infomercial,” what would you call GW’s “Fighting to the Finish” Faux Snooze’s endorsement?

1. So, you do endorse this line of policy. Thanks for that. BTW, no, many was not patient enough for the Iraq war. Many on here bitch about the war time, and time again. So, don't get mad when GOP down the stimulus.

2. Fox is on cable, ABC is on free tv. Big difference....

Yea, we lost patients after Rumsfeld said in February 2003:

"It could last six days, six weeks. I doubt six months," he said, speaking at the American air base at Aviano, in northern Italy.

And then Mc Same said in May 2008:

"By January 2013, America has welcomed home most of the servicemen and -women who have sacrificed terribly so that America might be secure in her freedom."

President Obama has finally set a date:

"Let me say this as plainly as I can," he said. "By August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end."

And if you doubt him he has met his withdrawal date for American troops from Iraqi cites on June 30th.

Cleaning up the damn mess Bush/Cheney created.

Help me out, what is the difference (this one ought to be good).

86 percent of TV households get TV from cable and satellite. Not a big difference at all...

And that 14% who doesn't still have 30+ other things they could have been watching.

All the talk of a 2nd stimulus lead me 2 believe the first one didn't provide the desired results. Personally, I thought it was too soon to discuss another stimulus but what do I know.

I agree, but you are not for any stimulus package, remember. It was poorly wriiten. Trying to build an economy on unsound fundamentals is a recipe for disaster.

actinanass won't answer this unless the republicans issue illogical official talking points on the subject.

. . . but <s>you are</s> [<u>he was</u>] not for any stimulus package . . .
A point that should be remembered anytime this poster comments on this subject, because, even if it was deemed an exemplary success, he would still be against it.

86 percent have cable, but 100 percent of TV users will have access to regular t.v. You are downgrading 14 percent like it ain't shit, but you have to remember 14 percent is damn near 15 million households. That's a lot of people.

In a liberal's mind, Style= substance

Bush could of cured Aids, Cancer, bring peace upon the world, gave everybody reparations, but if he couldn't talk, he would be considered the next Hitler.

I told y'all when this first started, THE STIMULUS IS REALLY A DEPRESSANT. No, I didn't support Dubya's stimulus either, it's the principle. It's devaluing your money and destroying savings of others! Not only that, It's slowly turning into a currency crisis. Now, keep makin this dude look like a prophet :D

I knew this would be a hoot. Do “100 percent of TV users will have access to regular t.v.” have 100% access to ABC? You don’t know do you? And if they do, what is stopping them from getting cable or Direct TV? Isn’t it their choice? Of course your republican/conservative edict of personal responsibility does not conveniently apply to this argument. I know you excuse the propaganda wing of the republican party, Faux Snooze for their laughable bias, but the rest of use want all facets of arguments.

You are famous for changing the subject to unintelligible ramblings and GOP rhetorical sound bytes. WHAT THE FUCK DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE THREAD?

I know you saw that I mentioned the 14%. Of which I am apart. And trust me, we got plenty of other crap we could have been watching instead of that. And if you check the ratings, you'll see most people didn't see it anyway
