Verizon stays raping people for phone prices & data service. That version of the TouchPro is even scaled down from a hardware level compared to the Altell & Sprint versions. People really fall for that #1 network bullshit that Verizon spews & learn the hardway it's not all its cracked up to be. People can shit all they want on Sprint, but I luv their data plans & speed.


Adding blueooth was fast as hell. It synched my email very easily too. Only problem you may run into is synching contacts/calendar with Outlook. There isn't an app available to do that yet but they do have a utility on Palm's site that allows for a 1 time transfer of that data to your phone. Then you can choose whether to synch OTA via google or Exchange server. I give it a solid 8.5 with the keyboard costing it some points. I can deal with the keyboard but am a little biased since I'm more used to the TouchPro & BB Curve keyboards. It's fast & seamless though. Can't wait for more apps to become available as well as jailbreaking becoming more commonplace. Once that happens, this phone is gonna really be a problem for Iphone & Android.

Nah I didn't order a touchstone. I don't think i'll need it as I already have a micro-usb cable connected to my pc & a mini-usb to micro-usb adaptor as well. I definitely wanna get a hard case for it though. Im not doing the waist cases anymore.

I use evernote for notes (it has a palm pre app), I use gmail imap for mail and I used a google app to transfer all my contacts and calendar for the past few years up to google. I haven't played with the camera as of yet but my boy has the phone and from what I saw it is pretty solid. The pictures came out definitely better than on the TouchPro & much sharper.

I saw the thread on the psx for the Pre earlier. I'm gonna wait a lil while before attempting to jail break the Pre. Plus I don't know if there are any apps already written for jailbroken Pres as of yet.

I just bought a clear hardcase at Bestbuy for $20 that snaps on pretty easily.

i saw that one at BestBuy too but don't want anymore holster cases. They become a pain in the ass when sitting down especially when getting into my truck. I'd rather keep it in my pocket and not have to worry about it falling off my waist without me knowing it. the one I have doesn't limit access to the keyboard nor does it cover any of the screen like some of the other ones. the only section of the phone that is someonewhat covered is the power button that is minor at best.

Since I had that plan I got the full rebate after one year. Sprint is starting to try to nurture their smartphone customers since they pay more and prolly leave more often for a competitor's device.

That's weird. All of my micro usb cables work with no issues whatsoever. Bluetooth paired easily too but I have a newer Plantronics earpiece so that may have something to do with it. Otherwise do you see some of what I was saying in regards to the response time & feel of the Pre yet?

Response time is fantastic. The feel is cool. Im still getting used to the keyboard but I like it better than software keyboards. I wish there was a way to make the numeric pad stay on instead of having to press the orange button all the time.
I learned how to copy and paste the right way finally - use the area left and right of the button as an alt key and press c or v just like on a keyboard.
I went through all the apps available and downloaded a bunch of em. Im glad theyre free. The few that are pay apps I either dont need or are not worth it to me.
The camera is great - the picture quality is impressive. Video should be added soon via firmware update. The screen is tight too. Text and image quality is great. I dont mind reading on it.
I think it needs an opera or skyfire though.

I think gettin a touch towards the end of its lifespan hurt my opinion of windows mobile. I ruled out newer more powerful devices on gp because they were winmo and no matter what they'd be the same even if the apps launched faster.

Confirmed by a number of devs that got accepted in the Early Access program, developers can now submit their apps to Palm for consideration to be included in the Beta App Catalog, starting from today. Not knowing the averge approval time for app submissions, we should start seeing the influx of apps to the App Catalog starting from today, tomorrow, or within the next week.

The lack of apps on the Pre has been what pulled back many potential Pre consumers. With "thousands" of Early Access Devs and Palm opening the SDK to the public soon, the App Catalog will no doubt be exploding with great apps to compete with Apple's App store by the end of this Summer.

I predict that the App Catalog will expand from 30 apps to about 80 apps by the end of next week.

I will admit that even if my phone isn't perfect I will accept my touch pro due to the price. I got www.amazegps.com and it's alright, not perfect though.

But that Iphone and that browser is crack, and those games are tight too.

the browser is tight, no flash though but its tight, you can see the bgol page loaded underneath the app launcher. I would love to use skyfire on this phone. The only thing I dont like about this phone is bluetooth is broken and I cant copy uneditable text. There is a learning curve that I'm pretty sure Im at least 50% of the way through. The phone is so fast I often just close apps and relaunch them rather than keep cards open.

id rather have sero than sprintnav and tv - i dont even use that shit- i use sprint nav sometimes sprint tv is wack. I watch the nfl network during the season sometimes but other than that its not worth it- theyre tryin to charge for sprint radio content now - $5.99 a month gtfoh

Im running Pandora for music, watching nfl network on sprint tv on my home tv courtesy of tv out jacks, and posting right now with no buffering... not to mention I have about 40 games and apps none of which I paid for lol.

Fuck that im riding sprint til the wheels fall off. I live in Atlanta so I have no coverage issues and 4G will be here soon. If I have to change phones for it to be compatible ill do it later.
