People posting right now...how much money did you make today so far???? +

At Staples/OfficeMax, they got this shit where if you bring an empty ink cartridge, they give you a $3 credit on their Card. The catch is, you can only bring 3 cartridges a day. You can get around this by getting cards under fake names (you'll have to go during different shifts/times though, so you aren't recognized), having family members get cards, and going to different stores. So if you have access to empty Ink Cartridges, you can make alot of $$$ off this.

Say there's 5 different Staples Stores in your area (within 15 miles), and you go to each twice a day (under different names), that's $90, in under 2 hours (I say 2 hours cause that's roughly the amount of time it will take to get to one place to another, plus the time you spend in the store).

What I'm trying to figure out is...where to get the empty ink cartridges?
I'm thinkin of goin Downtown tommorow, to like Kinkos or some other Printing Businesses, and digging in their dumpsters for empty ink cartridges...am I wasting my time?

EDIT:
I just found this recycling company:
http://www.planetgreenrecycle.com/

I'm stilll trying to find out the pros and cons, this might be better than the Staples hustle.

This is a great idea.

You can go to different businesses in your area and tell them you are collecting empty ink cartridges for non-profit. If they save the ink for you will pick it up free of charge every month or 2.

Create a little box that they can put near their printers that say "EMPTY INK FOR CANCER" or some shit. Some business owners will eat this up. Roll by each business once a month and you will be set.

In a couple months, you will know which businesses will save them for you and which ones will not.

Good luck
Peace

I would like some info about opening a bar/lounge. Where are you located and how did you go about setting everything up?

I'm more interested in figuring out the setup/financing side than anything and trying to get someone in restaurant mgmt in to run everything after.

Cyba, check your PMs if you haven't done so already.

I put that info in here already... But I'll tell you again. I spent 120k for that bar from an old lady who's husband owned the place after he died (In Akron,Ohio). My pops actually co sizzled for me w/ the bank. Paid him and the bank off on like 175k or so in another 3 yrs, the rest is history. You'd be surprised @ how much people spend on drinks/ food during the course of a year or 2...
I bought a New fuckin STS Lac and a house cuz of It.

You wanna own a bar....Better have some paper on deck .
Thats for damn sure. Ain't nothin cheap about It. Big profits require big investments, Initially. I got the start-up money the grimey way.

Ok, lawn service. I got some door hangers made and some cards made.

I walk subdivisions and eyeball a property from the street and handwrite an estimate at the bottom, its the way I had 'em made, and leave 'em on the mailbox.

People been calling, increasingly more. But how do you handle the people that don't want to sign a contract. I can understand, the economic climate is sketchy and they wanna make sure they have bill money.
But peep this, I can't cut a bitch grass for the same $60 that I quoted her for when it's a month high.
Not even when it's 3 weeks high.

Then I got this one bitch that insists on being there when I cut the grass like it's an appointment. It fucks with my schedule. I called her one day and told her I was in her area and that I wanted to take care of her yard, even told her I could come back for payment. The bitch said tomorrow morning is better, and said something about pine cones being in yard when I asked her about a regular scheduled cut (she's an occasional client that I call every 2 weeks, but she always waits to the 3rd weekend).

I told her last time I got there 30 min before she told me to be there, 6pm, and there still wasn't enough daylight to finish. Not to mention I spent 3 hours in her yard because we has some storm and branches were down, plus she lives on a corner lot so twice the perimeter area to trim. I end up finishing her yard in the dark, and SHE EVEN SAID I DID A GREAT JOB!?

Back to the phone convo when I'm tellin her I'm in her area. I'm trying to use the following points to get her on contract and on a regular schedule 1. I can't afford to spend 3 hours in her yard every 3 weeks. 2. I cannot/will not cut grass in the dark if I can avoid it (it's unprofessional). 3. I can't continue to come back the next day to finish. (The day I finished in the dark, I had to come back the next day because she wanted me to do the back, which she usually doesnt. And she complained about it being an extra $20).

First she says something about my price, $60. Then she tells me that her neighbor across the street "has just as many pine trees and an equal size yard, but the don't have any pine cones in the yard".

WTF?

What kinda car wash you into? Hand car wash?

You know what I was thinking about investing in? One of those $3/$4 car washes that's drive-thru. They been poppin up all over Atlanta and they stay packed.

Of course they don't clean like a hand car wash, but most people don't care. They just want their ride to be reasonably clean and have some black magic on 'nem tires.

I thought up a big answer for this, But what kept popping up In my head was drop that yard...Meaning tell that bitch to find someone else If she's not satisfied. I would move on and find somebody else to replace her income for you homie. The Work Is hard enough....You don't have to put up w/ that shit.:smh: But If you need the bread, Just grin and bear It and deal with her on a pay per cut basis...fuck the contract in her case....Gimmie my money when I'm finished type shit...

Make her shit look like a million bucks so she won't give up on ya either....Lifetime customers I'm tellin ya..

See, that's what I did. Dropped her. I didn't want to tho, I aim to satisfy, ya know? But damn, there comes a line where some people have no business sense and don't care about yours. I can't run a business like that, doing her yard one day until dark, then coming back the next day to do the back, and when her grass needs cutting she wants to skip a week to stretch a cut, then wants more work for the same ticket? WTF? :dunno:

BTW, what kinda equipment you got?
like brand names and models.
I got a Toro 36" walk behind, Redmax trimmer, Echo blower(weak), echo hedge trimmer, and poulan 18" chainsaw.

What about some automated ones that use recycled water? Any cheaper in the long run?

I know they are expensive that's why I ain't already in on one. Somewhere around a Quarter, right?

About the lady, I dropped her after presenting the situation to an older cat that's been showing me some stuff in the business. I work with him a lot here lately. He has yards all over. He been schooling me to different little shit.

He said, almost like you just did, that he wouldn't call her no more. Let her call me. So I didn't call or show up, and after the fact I remember when she first called me saying that she couldn't get hold to her old lawn guy and that she didn't know what happened.

That nigga probably got smart.

I even copped some of those infomercial shits....Can't find a pic ( that weed pulling thing)...Like I said before tho...I don't spend alot on equipment, they all do the same thing. Home depot get $$$ outta me every month tho..

Man, I don't use nothing electric! In this business everything needs to stand up to commercial standards. Nothing electric is gonna last you man.

Get you some of these! Best out, lightweight, fast, durable. They cost a grip, about $300+ but it's worth it. Same with their backpack blowers.... best money can buy

As far as the lawn care service is concerned, I have a question:

For a cat first starting out, what equipment is essential/mandatory? Whats a startup estimate?

It depends....Or your doing It by yourself, Or do you have other people witcha....

I started out for dolo ( by myself ) and It didn't cost very much ...Like a 400 buck Investment..

Lawnmower, trimmer, a gang of trashbags and gas, water, lil shit. Main thing to do Is find clients....These realtors are always looking for the best buy. You'll work your ass off for the lil money they will pay you....But If you do a good job....They'll shoot a whole bunch of them shits @ you....Then you make some good money. Also they will give you other lil odd jobs they don't wanna pay a grip for....Easy money alot of times....You will wanna have a couple mofos that will help you tho cuz this shit will kill you by yourself.....It's up to you tho. It's worth It for me @ this point to pay other people to do the work....I still help from time to time... Hope that helps..Good Luck .

Good lookin out man. I been thinking about hoppin on this hustle for a minute, every spring I say that I'm going to, but I never get around to it.

400 dollars seems like a cool investment, but i SURE ain't about to be out there myself doing the work. To HOME DEPOT I go, to swoop up a mexican or two to do the work!

I need some advice y'all.

I got two businesses.

One is a real estate investment company I have with my sister.

I want to put my lawn service up under that first company. Like a subsidiary, using the RE company as a parent company, in order to save money on business licensing, taxes, etc.

How do I do that?

Do I use the same EIN as the RE company and just get a separate business license?
I need to open another business account for my lawn service but I already know one of the requirements is to have either a tax ID or business license, they would even like me to be registered with the Secretary of State.

I really need some insight on this.

I was gone for a second... Having financial problems of my own right now... So...

Anybody have anything new to speak on.:hmm:

Besides my pockets...
