Clinton/Gore was the best republican administration that the democrats ever elected. BUT it was most powerfully during trickle down, Reagan era!

Bullsh*t right back! You really need to look at monetary policy: The Federal Reserve (A group of International Bankers) has been given the power to create money, by the trillions, and to give it to their friends, under any terms they wish, with little or no meaningful oversight or accountability.
Their friends have R's next to their names, as well as D's! After all, everybody likes money, right? You can't lobby for your issues if you aint got no dough! ie. American Workers & Blacks. Those friends of the Fed are environmentalists, bankers, Gays, Oil tycoons etc. on both sides of the spectrum.

I actually thought THOUGHTONE was a reasonable, REALISTIC person. For a conservative like me, I can actually admit if the other side come up with a good idea. Can Thought do that? Anyone that's more conservative than HE/SHE is, he considers them some right wing ideologue. There's nothing open minded about that. I'm actually sick of the extreme sides of both parties.

While Thought's philosophy will keep many in our community wanting to be taken care of by the government, my philosophy will make us more influential when policy comes up. And, I tend to disagree with your and T.O.'s philosophies (though there are probably more things than you can imagine that the three of us agree on).
In many ways, you and T.O., are both sort of strangely what you accuse the other of being: extremists -- he toward the left; you toward the right; opposites of the same American coin.
Perhaps, if the sides thought more about that coin, we might look for more ways of harmony and agreement.

I really don't see myself as extreme. An extremist would say that he/she is right 95 percent of the time. I do not claim that everything conservatism stand for works for everyone. What I do know is that any type of socialism *whether its Canada's version, or to the extreme Nazism* do not work. At some point, you have to put your faith in the hands of the American citizens.
To be honest, I think I'm more closer to you than you think. Remember when we did that political quiz? I was center to right libertarian.
BTW, there's nothing wrong with me, and thought debating over issues. Like I said in past post, if thought came to Dallas tomorrow, I would treat him like a brother. I have no quarrels with TH.O whatsoever.

I don't know what is your defintion of "lobby." Do Latins and Asians have a "lobby?"
For the sake of argument lets assume Pres Obama has real power and he is not just a figurehead distracting people thru their opinions. The gay and lesbian issue would never get press if the powers that be didn't want it there. The media selects and shapes issues and let voters choose their poison. So why is this an issue when there are so many other challenges facing us. It like saying judge Sotomayor statements about her past and how it helps her as a judge are reason to disqualify her from serving. No sane person would even consider the arguement.
