** The Official "24" 7th Season Thread**

I loved that the episode had three different, somewhat ambiguous endings.

1) Renee and Wilson in the interrogation room

2) Jack and Kim Bauer in the hospital room together

3)President Taylor and her family. This last one was absolutely GRIPPING! That situation was so tense and ugly due to what was NOT being said. Cherry Jones is FUCKING AWESOME!!!

The other emotional kicker for me was Tony's insane outbursts as he was being dragged off. I was about crying over that one. Dude's mental state was completely gone. I even bought the "son" angle.

I also like how they tied all the previous events of the past seasons with the "conspiracy".

Forget Keifer Sutherland.
If Cherry Jones and Carlos Bernardh aren't nominated for Emmys this year, I'm going to be PISSED!!!

Bob Gunton also deserves kudos as Ethan Kanin.

How do you get so emotional about 24?

Why not?
Is that a problem?

As compared to last season, the writing and twists this time out were pretty intense. As it should be for any show that gives one a visceral response.

That's what GREAT shows do.

I agree last season was a complete waste.

I don't agree about you take on Tony, he meets the man that killed his wife and unborn child and all he does is pistol whip him. His screaming at jack seemed within the same emotional range as when he was plotting with Bill or going after the missiles.

Carlos is a journeyman actor but not award worthy, now Cherry Jones had me convinced of the angst she felt and the monumental decision she had to turn her daughter in...

Finally, Janine Garafalo's character while a good foil for Chloe (always a favorite)was never developed enough to make the point in the finally scene. I dont know if it was under written or underplayed but when Reneee walked into the room, garafalo character should have had more to say than "He wouldn't you to do this or you will throw your career away." she should have been the last sane voice telling her that crossing the line make you as bad as him as Jack had done earlier.

Good episode but not as good as the season where the president went rogue and the chinese kidnapped Jack (my favorite)

Watch Jack get healed and become a Muslim.
yeah next season he prolly gonna come out a more softer mello jack, and is going to be more about jack fighting his inner demons because he doesnt want to be the man he was, but he wont have a choice and will have to get gully to get the job done

That's what I'm thinking. Jack's life is like Michael Corleone in The Godfather III:

"Every time I try to get out, They keep pulling me back in."

I also think that when the dust settles, we'll begin the next season finding out the President has stepped down. I don't see how she would continue to serve, considering her daughter had a federal witness murdered. She'll be separated from her husband, and it will be implied that her and Ethan are closer than ever. That VP's character this season, was a straight bitch. It'll be interesting to see what role he plays as president, if they go that route.

Renee Walker and Wilson.... who knows what angle they're going to play on that one. That scenario could go in a million different ways.

One thing's for sure, CTU is going to be back. Maybe Walker leaves the FBI and becomes a CTU operative? I think she's had it with trying to do things the "by the book".

ctu is back, so chloe and her FBI sidekick will be working side by side. i just hope we don't have to suffer with another season with limp wristed morris.

24 slightly derailed having olivia take over as chief-of-staff. looks like the dumb trick got hers for now. the president couldn't destroy the tape and do nothing. duty aside, it wouldn't have mattered. she still would've had to have the reporter, the SS agent, and her former chief of staff all killed to keep them quiet. not to mention the actual assassin. on top of that, we don't know for sure that it was the paid assassin who did the murder anyway.

i give the finale a weak score. cliffhangers are cool because there should be some reason to tune in next season, but they still could've had great cliffhangers AND let the scenes develop a little more.

ex. the FBI agent could have interrogated the suspect and given the audience a bombshell which would set the table for next season.

24 will probably have a "pre-season" episode like REDEMPTION to bridge the time gap between seasons.
