Negro, who the fuck are you, and what put's you so above my level?

Don't let my post-game antics fool you, bro'. Just because I'm clowning, that doesn't make me a clown.

I'm telling you like it is. The Lakers finished with the second best record for a reason. They were far and away the best team in the West. That's a championship caliber team, and everyone here knows it. I don't need ya'll to admit it.

Lcumguzzle is that you?:hmm:

Re: ***The Official Laker's vs Roccet's Thread

Let's talk basketball then...Do you really think Kobe is going to be successful for three more games of nothing but jumpers. He had 1 layup..the one he threw to himself, (beautiful by the way) But like Kenny and Chuck said... he's got to have that performance three more times. Only way that's gonna happen is if he gets to the basket..:smh:

Kobe doesn't have to have that performance every game. Houston is not that great of a team, dude. The long lay-off is why the Lakers stunk up the court in game 1. It's common knowledge that a long lay-off can affect a team negatively, and I saw how rusty they were from the very beginning in game 1.

Kobe will do whatever needs to be done, but Houston is not that GREAT, that Kobe will need to drop 40 every night. However, the man has 3 month's in his career where he averaged forty points, and have put together multiple streaks of 5 or more games of 40 points. Not to mention the he had 50(50, 65, 50, 62) or more points four games in a row, two years ago.

No other dude in the league has shown that type of scoring ability. Lebron is more efficient, but just blacking out and scoring tons of points for stretches of games?

No one in the league can do that like Kobe.

Re: ***The Official Laker's vs Roccet's Thread

ok...i love how both RonRon and Kobe play, shiet, this is one hellava series, but for those "keeping it real" with Artest, he needs to WAKE THE FUCK UP!

this nigga is actually bitchin bout that elbow, RON, u've been doin that shit for YEARS, all of a sudden in one good year you are removed from all that....please!:smh:

Ron's been punishin' niggas for years and finally when someone ACTUALLY pulled that same dirty shit back, he flips!!! like he said, "you hittin' Ron Artest??"....3rd-person-ass crazy talkin-ass nigga!

and for y'all BGOL Kobe-Hatin niggas...tha fuck is all this hate on Kobe, you don't have to like the cat but COT-DAM! :smh:like its the "IT" thing to bash on dude. ya'll act like the nigga is 6months late on that child support or someshit and was late pickin up ur kid while u were at work and he was on the couch not doin shit!

ps: i can't front tho, ya'll be roastin dude:lol:

Most if not all of us on here respect Kobe's skills. It's his overall bitchism over his career that is the cause of the dislike for the nigga. Let's not forget how this team he has would've never come together had he got his way when he was whinin for bynum or himself to get traded.

Which he didn't do much of this game either...ended up with 7 FTAs...

Like I said after Game 1, I will take it when he attempts those jump shots...As long as the team ain't functioning well on offense, my team has a chance to beat the Lakers every game. Granted he shot over 50% this game, but how many times will he do that this series? And add to that the possibility of making his teammates cold...I'll take that every game...

LA is 10-1 in the last 11 playoff games joey Crawford has officiated in the playoffs and 8-7 in the last 15 he has not officiated in the playoffs...

And the only loss LA has had with Joey at the helm was in game 6 of the finals where eddie F Rush another head ref was there to over rule him...

Tonight Crawford has his own crew lol it will be difficult...

Look for Yao in early foul...

Airline ticket income investigation

In 1998, Crawford was one of 8 NBA referees charged with filing false income tax returns. An Internal Revenue Service investigation was the result of cash being pocketed by referees when airline tickets provided by the league were downgraded. At the conclusion of a four year investigation, Crawford pleaded guilty on July 1, 1998[6] for falsely stating income of $82,500 from 1991 to 1993[7] and resigned from the NBA effective immediately. He would be reinstated by NBA commissioner David Stern in 1999 and did not miss a game due to a players' lockout to start the 1998-99 NBA season.[8]

[edit] 2003 NBA Playoffs

During Game 2 of the Western Conference finals of the 2003 NBA Playoffs, Crawford assessed four technical fouls in the first 10 minutes, 11 seconds of the game, including two technical fouls and an ejection of Don Nelson, then head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, for not returning to his team's bench after disputing a foul called against his team. Later in the game, he ejected Nelson's assistant coach, Del Harris.[2][8]

[edit] Games officiated milestone

Crawford officiated in his 2,000th NBA game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers on November 11, 2005. He was the sixth NBA referee in history to reach such a milestone, joining Jake O'Donnell, Dick Bavetta, Earl Strom, and Tommy Nunez.[3]

[edit] Tim Duncan altercation

On April 15, 2007, Crawford ejected San Antonio Spurs superstar Tim Duncan for supposedly laughing at Crawford from his seat on the bench during a game against the Dallas Mavericks. Duncan also supposedly insulted Crawford with an expletive.[8] Duncan alleges that Crawford challenged him to a fight on the court.[9] On April 17, Crawford was suspended for the remainder of the 2006-07 season and the 2007 Playoffs as a result of this altercation, ending his 21 consecutive Finals appearances. The league also fined Duncan $25,000 for verbal abuse of an official and warned that a repeat incident in the future would result in an ejection. Commissioner David Stern said Crawford's actions "failed to meet the standards of professionalism and game management we expect of NBA referees."[8] Crawford met with league officials on July 30, 2007 to discuss his future in the NBA, but no resolution was reached between the two parties.[10] On September 17, 2007, the NBA announced Crawford's reinstatement. Commissioner Stern met with Crawford and stated, "Based on my meeting with Joey Crawford, his commitment to an ongoing counseling program and a favorable professional evaluation that was performed at my direction, I am satisfied that Joey understands the standards of game management and professionalism the NBA expects from him and that he will be able to conduct himself in accordance with those standards."[11]

[edit] 2008 Playoffs and ongoing controversy with the San Antonio Spurs

In the 2008 Playoffs, Crawford was chosen to officiate a critical Game 4 between the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers. In the closing seconds of that one, there was a crucial no-call where the Spurs' Brent Barry was fouled by Derek Fisher. Crawford was the closest official to the call, and the NBA later apologized for the faux pas.[12][13]

[edit] 2009 Playoffs and controversy with the Houston Rockets

In the 2009 Playoffs, Crawford created considerable controversy with questionable calls in the second game of the 1st round series between the Houston Rockets and Portland Trailblazers. Major outcry from Rockets fans came from the final 1.3 second of the game. The Rockets were down by two points, and Rudy Fernández tripped and fell down while attempting to take a throw in from out of bounds. Fernandez clearly knocked the ball out of bounds and was not touched by a Rockets player. Crawford who was only a few feet away automatically called the foul on Houston despite no evidence of contact, effectively sealing the game for the Portland Trailblazers.[14]

Most if not all of us on here respect Kobe's skills. It's his overall bitchism over his career that is the cause of the dislike for the nigga. Let's not forget how this team he has would've never come together had he got his way when he was whinin for bynum or himself to get traded.

Man, Kobe gets roasted for shit other players do, but no one talks about them.

Kobe has been hated on HEAVILY since I was in high school, and I'm 28 years old. It's deeper than that, and I know it.

I've heard every reason you could think of for why people hate Kobe. With so many reasons, it's hard for me to believe that any are are the REAL reason. Kobe is no more fucked up than Michael Jordan, but people STILL worship the ground that dude walks on.

Shaq is now beefing with Dwyane Wade. That makes Kobe, Penny, and Dwyane that he beefed with before leaving their teams. No one cares to talk about how Shaq can't get along with anyone, or how he tricked major bread on SUPERHEAD, or the fact that he became a cop(Which I don't have a problem with, but there is a strong "Fuck The Police" attitude on BGOL)....

Nah. No one cares about that.

However, Kobe? Every move that dude makes is criticized. Like dude above me said, Ron Artest has been playing dirty for years, but it's alright when he does it. People on BGOL are LAUGHING about Rafer Alston slapping the shit out of Eddie House...

But Kobe's elbow has everyone heated. :hmm::hmm::hmm:

For real, though. It seems like anyone can get physical except Kobe. This game basically made the Lakers get physical with the Rockets, and Fisher took one for the team. He gets props for that one.

And shiiiiiiiiiiit, even Ron was smiling during the interview. He had that "me and Kobe always get into it, just chill" type of vibe. He wasn't even that pissed off about it.:lol::lol:

But Kobe can definitely get into his skin. And he knows it.

A focused, upset Kobe + a disturbed, upset Ron Artest = one hell of a series.

Re: ***The Official Laker's vs Roccet's Thread

Game 1 excuses for LA
When the Rockets score it's because they played poor defense

When the Lakers fail to score it's because they missed open shots

When the Rockets turn the ball over it's because their defense stepped it up

When the Lakers turn the ball over it's because of mental mistakes on their part

When the Rockets make freethrows it's because the officials are on their side

When the Lakers miss freethrows it's because the Rockets are fouling too hard

When the Lakers lose it's because they were tired

When the Rockets win it's because of all of the above

Many people don't like him because of that Shaq thing, but you kind of rebutted that, so let's go with your Michael Jordan point...I'll say it straight up, I don't like Kobe's play and I didn't like Jordan then (mainly because I was a fan of Magic), but the difference between Mike in his career and Kobe is that Mike was able to find the strengths of his teammates and use them accordingly. Kobe has been in the league 12 seasons or so, and after six seasons or so with the most dominant player in the league and going on two with an efficient field goal scorer (Gasol) and a well rounded forward in Odom, it seems like he always finds a way to deviate from an effective offensive set just to shoot jumpers. I wish he would be more like Rip instead of handling the ball more often.

This could be it for Bryant for winning a title at LA...There are talks about Odom not returning and some of the role players leaving, so it's now or maybe never for him...

gasol has a shot now.

so cranrab u happy he got some post play?

if i was a fakers fan, i'd have been ecstatic.

not only did pau gasol have an excellent first quarter, but 4 fakers scored FGs right off the bat. that's GOOD basketball, and it only proves what i've been saying all along.

Q1

tobe 7-11 FGAs 15 pts, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. explosive start, but still too many shots.

pau gasol 5-5 FGAs 13 pts, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocked shots. explosive start, perfect pacing.

who had the better quarter?

yao in foul trouble... not good for rockets.

to bad they lost mutumbo.

yao ming still has a long way to go.

i already posted how he doesn't have good enough foot speed to defend against pau gasol.

tonight, i got to watch his technique in the post and it is TERRIBLE.

in addition to having hands of stone (that's BAD), his PGs take terrible angles on entry passes.

but those factors aside, yao ming has NO clue how to seal his defender, ESPECIALLY when the fakers front him. it was exasperating watching the fakers front him over and over, and yao ming NOT ONCE attempted a seal.

coach adelman is going to have to use remedial basketball in G3 to solve that problem by reversing the ball to the middle of the floor and having the entry pass come from there. but yao ming would still have to seal his defender, and i'm not sure he knows how to do that!

Roccet's Thread

My fuckin team is pissin me OFF !! Fuckin' Sasha, Fisher and walton, cant make treys to save their life.

seeing as how there was a single player monopolizing the ball in Q1, is it any wonder the rest of the fakers were cold in Q2?

what do you expect to happen?

Q2

fakers lost their lead to the rockets, who played much of the time without yao ming.

i wonder, if i were a fakers player, might it have been a prudent strategy to feed your 7' center the ball when your opposing center, yao ming, is on the bench?

i wonder, why did pau gasol not get a FG until 2:45 remaining in Q2?

hmmm. the fakers lead disappeared at the 3:50 of Q2.

coincidence?

Roccet's Thread

Coach Jackson helped destroy the rest of Bynum's confidence by benching him in Game 3 of the Utah series.

coach just needs to let him stay in the game and foul out. use up all 6 fouls and be done with it.

this in/out, getting ranked shit is fucking with the kid's confidence.

but then, andrew bynum has always been an unknown quantity. it's fakers fans that have been resting all their hopes and dreams on his shoulders.

which is why the end of the half should not have been close...especially when Gasol was so efficient starting the game and got Yao in foul trouble...

After that point the Rockets shouldn't have gotten any closer than 15 points...

You're right, but he GOT TO THE BASKET.

Don't be so biased to believe that he can do that the rest of this series and be successful. Not even Kobe can do that.

Re: Roccet's Thread

seeing as how there was a single player monopolizing the ball in Q1, is it any wonder the rest of the fakers were cold in Q2?

Kobe left the game up by 14, when he re enteres, the lead is 7. The only 2 players to come off the bench were walton and jordan in qt 1. After they entered the game, kobe went for 1 for 3. Lakers were up by 13 when Luke and Jordan entered. Powell came in with about 30 seconds left in the 1st qt. Luke also hits 2 free throws. So how were Sasha, Brown, Bynum and Powell cold "because of a single player monopolizing the ball in q1" when they werent in the game in q1?

hmmm. the fakers lead disappeared at the 3:50 of Q2.

coincidence?

Actually, the lead dissappeared with 3:57 left. After a powell turnover, powell foul, missed 3's by fisher and ariza, TO by fisher, TO by ariza, foul by ariza. Lets not forget after the rockets took the lead, ariza missed another 3 and committed another foul. Meanwhile, after the score was 45 to 37, kobe took one shot (and made it), then assisted on shannons 3 point shot, before the rockets took the lead at 49-48.

So whats the coincidence?

Re: ***The Official Laker's vs Roccet's Thread

You're right, but he GOT TO THE BASKET.

Don't be so biased to believe that he can do that the rest of this series and be successful. Not even Kobe can do that.

Why not?

Nobody on Houston can truly stop him. Ron and Battier can make him work, but that dude has too many offensive tools to work with to be completely stopped when he's in the right mind-frame.

Yes, I said the right mind-frame.

I don't think Kobe is as mentally stable as Jordan was on the court, and to me, there-in lies the difference in the two of them. Skill-wise? What CAN'T Kobe do? However, I sometimes think he isn't as focused as he should be, and it does hurt his team, at times.

However, if you'll notice, in games when that dude is focused on trying to make a statement, very few players in the history of the game can score like he can. The very fact that he's against two people who are intent on stopping him(Battier and Artest), AND because he DESPERATELY wants to prove he can win without Shaq, I think we're going to see more efficient scoring from Kobe. Not that he won't go back to old habits from time to time, but he'll be more quick to correct them in the playoffs, than in the regular season...

...where the stakes just aren't as high.

Re: ***The Official Laker's vs Roccet's Thread

Really though. :lol::lol:

That elbow was a foul, it shouldn't be no suspension. Plus Ron was all over his back and shit. What did he expect?

f52dxc.jpg

Yeah can't suspend Kobe for that. The played was called incorrectly on the floor. Kobe should have been accessed the foul. The refs made a bad call that completely changed the game. However, you don't compound it by tossing Kobe. Kobe should be on a short leash though... he hit Battier with the knee and an elbow and now he threw and elbow at Artest's throat... anything like that again and he should get tossed.
