There's a Trini spot in NW Baltimore County called Sweet T&T and their roti and everything is all that. The best Trini spot in Bmore

:yes::yes::yes::yes:

Their former boss (who owns this other Caribbean spot in bmore county) who they left to become the current new management of Sweet T&T is kinda salty they left him. Dude constantly reminds me how his menu is bigger than theirs,,blah blah blah,,,I'm like man, let it go :lol::lol::lol::lol:

#1 Anywhere you can find Trini people................

2 spots in ATL have been mentioned in this thread, but look out for the Trini flag.

JAMAICANS DO NOT COOK ROTI unless they have some Trini or Coolie peoples around. TRUST!!!!

I've been to some spots and these Jamaican restaurants try to give you stewed chicken in a Roti Skin :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Thinking just because I don't have an accent I'm not West Indian :lol: They try to get over on you in a second.

Hands down the best place I ever had Roti was Trinidad or from this Trini spot in Brooklyn back in the day that was actually a bakery more or less.

ALSO Been ALL OVER THE Caribbean so trust when I tell ya

Carribean Cuisine on Bissonet. Right across from a school. They are the bomb. Used to be have this truck called Slice of Spice on Almeda but when the Reggae Hut moved in, they bounced.

:angry::angry::angry:

Dhalpurie (ground split peas Roti)
Serve 8 or more
1/2 pound split peas
1/2 tea spoon saffron
2 tea spoon salt
3 cloves of garlic
1 tbl spoon veg oil
2-3 teaspoon ground cumin(geera)
1 pound of flour
3 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups water to mix
1/4 oil

Method
1- Boil spit peas with saffron, 1 teaspoon salt and garlic until firm and cooked. Drain well.
2- Grind to a powder and fry in 1 tablespoon oil for 1 min turning constantly to avoid sticking or burning.
3-Add geera and salt to taste cool.
4-Mix together flour, baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt and water to make a soft dough.
5- Knead dough until smooth.
6-Cut dough into 8 pieces or according to size of the baking stone (tawah)
7- Shape into round balls; open each and in the center and place about 3-4 tablespoons of prepared split pea filling. Pull the sides over and close up to form a ball with the filling inside. Dredge lightly with flour to prevent sticking.
8-Carefully roll out filled balls very thinly, using enough flour on surface to prevent sticking.
9- Heat and grease griddle or tawah and place a rolled roti on it.
10- Cook for 1 min ; turn over roti and brush with oil.
11- Cook for 1/2 min and turn over and brush with oil.
12- Cook remaining filled dough in this way.
Serve with curried meat or vegetables.
