Ok I just got mine....
Now I'm on the market for a 1TB or 1.5 TB external drive
I also bought a basketball while I was out.
you should get a drive that has an on/off switch
cause for now the Wd Hd media player does not turn off the drive when you shut it off
so try and get an anternal hardrive with an on/off switch
It will turn off WD hard drives. This external 1TB turns off and restarts as expected.

the audio is out of sync and the fast foward and rewind dont work right
I had the same problems, I just did a factory restore...
My shit right now is just sitting up and looking cute, because I dont really wanna do anything till I get my 1TB drive.

download the version you want to go back to. open the wdtv.ver file in notepad. Change the version number to 1.02.05 and save it.
Now you can downgrade
it was originally designed for the WD passport usb powered drive.....so you should be okay.

Make sure you extract the files to the main folder. If your thumb drive is say G
Make the files say
G:\WDTV_FW_1_02_04.bin
or whatever the exact name is, don't have them in a folder.

I have my PS3 and my computer hooked to my flatscreen. The same damn flatscreen. But shit show better from the computer than from the PS3. Sometimes on the PS3 the audio be off for no reason. Will this box show the same quality and sound as my computer, or are there some differences?

Specs don't really answer the question. Cause the PS3 don't show as good from a hdmi cable as the computer from a svga cable. I just wanna know if aybody has compared how this looks on tv to a computer playing the same movie on the same tv. But I'll take the risk and try it, if it's not good I'll just take it back.

Copped one of these when it first hit for 130 at bestbuy.. used to use my xbox or ps3 to stream but that shit is all in the living room. Got this for the bedroom and gotta say its really nice and compact and when paired with the two 1 tb wd's I have over 100 bluray movies and countless flicks..
