We're sort of in the same boat here.
I believe in God. So I'm definitely a theist. But I'm not what you would call a traditional Christian or a devout one. I choose to research and believe what I believe for myself.
But yeah, I believe the Jesus Christ stuff. But I refuse to be spoon fed what I'm supposed to believe. I usually go on what I can find on my own.
But I figure if you don't believe in one religion say, Christianity, then you believe in another, like Islam, or Judaism or something. Usually when someone is on the board, complaining about a religious person dragging them to church, it's usually and atheist.
A theist of any religion, is usually just happy that the other person is a theist (believes in god, any god) like themselves.
I'm late to the party, but oh well. I think what the brotha meant was that a lot of the "enlightened" tend to think of those who are religious, or choose to believe in the "white man's religion," are often referred to as being lost, or sheep. Very hypocritical in my view, because one of the main complaints of non-believers is that religious folks are constantly acting as if they have all of the answers, or have the magic formula, and are pushing their beliefs onto others.
Rambled a bit, but hopefully that made some sense.
