went to some bullshit church today called the word church. i don't know how i let her sucker me into going...
(found out she has some new black female friends, not a good thing :smh:

told her before we left out 45 min. max i'm not listening to someone tell their version of what religion is all day. i don't believe in the shit to begin with.

walked into the place and the first thing that came to mind:

they really go out of there way to sucker you into this place :smh:

Don I feel you, but not to that level of disdain because I want the spriritual enlightenment..but heres my thoughts and breakdown.

-Im sitting in there with the prototypical 17-1 female/male ratio
-Alot of verifiable hoes now so-called reformed with 3kids by 3 diff dads...who now seek god fearing mane...(to be sucker)
-A large array of Morbidly Obese un-wifeable women..who have the Lawd as the man in their life.
-Alot of single women cryne' doin jumpin jacks and doin the Shawty Lo dance from receivin the holy ghost but they way they were ogglin' Punch ..look like tears of havin' no man
-My mud'n law who is beyond holy now and a Minister no doubt :rolleyes:

..but yet to inform my woman her older sister is actually her half sister they resemble each other like Halle Berry and Whoopi Goldberg by the way.

To me, church is a place to spiritually renew myself...a place (particularly before I start the work week) where I can hear a good word and be surrounded by individuals who I know all have good intentions in mind...doesn't matter if the congregation is 17,000 or 170 or 17, as long as it's a good word.

There is lots of hypocrisy and nastiness going on in churches these days...that still won't stop me from finding one that suits MY purpose and my needs. I see it the same as finding a beauty salon or clothing shop I like...if it fits me well, I stay loyal to it...

Churches like to devise strategies and ways of, especially in this day and time, "reel" people in. Give them the rec activities that outside centers and mini-malls do. Give them the child care the single parents need. And, can you blame them? If they're in the practice of "winning souls," they need things to reel people in...

I'm not saying it's good or bad...but it IS good business...

Here's the thing,

"winning souls" is really about evangelism, which is really about making money. If someone isn't interested in joining you just based off of wanting to live life the way you do, then why bother? IMO people should be ALLOWED into being a part of a religion, based off of them performing certain actions. If "God" has those requirements to get into heaven, why don't churches? I'll tell you why, because they need money.

God aint going around trying to "win souls", he's God, if you believe in any of that. Men go around pretending to be attempting to win souls, man have even convinced themselves of it, when all they really want, is another sucker in the pew when that donation plate comes around.

If I had a divine insight, and some sacred knowledge in my possession, I wouldn't withold it, but I damn sure wouldn't go around "tricking" people into wanting it as well.

I can see your idea of spitiually renewing yourself, and I can even dig the idea of fellowship, which I take to mean like minded indiviuals expressing ideals,and strenghtening resolve, but I aint letting no one in, who needs to be turned to my way of thinking, that would weaken my resolve-- but I guess it would strengthen my pocket.
