this will be more of a walk through of a startup of a new store concept i'm doing. In cleveland, ohio i'm going to open up 3 new locations. in addition to selling phones (boost mobile, virgin mobile, page plus cellular), accessories, satellite sales and service (both dish and directtv). these locations will also offer computer repair, both onsite and offsite for residential and commercial needs.

with the computer repair it will also offer computer sales(built to order), upgrades, some software mostly O/S, utilities, antiviral, etc. in addition to that, conversions (records/video, etc converted to the appropriate format for a computer. lastly web design, whether it's a full complete website or just a profile page for a social site.

This will take 30 days with a scheduled grand opening on May 1st.

this will folllow day by day things that are done to get this up and running. if you have questions on how i did something ask here don't ask in pm's.

(may take a moment for the video to load)
1400 sq. ft. large front display. near a main mall entrance close to the food court. (strategically sound because customers carrying computers in the store don't have to walk through the mall to get there.) thousands of dollars of shelving and cabinets and display cases already in place. (use to be a ritz camera, didn't know they all went out of business)

as busy as this mall is the management were "desperate" to fill in 5 spots they had in the mall, so literally threw themselves at us on pricing. $800.00 a month. no cam charges (cam charges are fees collected by the mall in addition to rent for services such as mall cleanup, snow shoveling, maintenance around the mall, upkeep, etc.) all we have to pay is rent, lights, and phone. even heat is included in the price.

Watch it go out of business in 90. (im so wrong for that. :smh:)

Just Kidding... This should be interesting.. Im gonna subscribe to your Youtube.

800 month?!?!?! For mall space...thats a steal.. Is this a major mall or one that has gone done a little and is now second tier.

COSIGN!.. Cant get no space in a GOOD mall in the DC area for that price... Maybe not even a hoodmall...

Shit barely get a one bedroom for that...LMAO:lol::lol:

has the economy affected the capacity of the mall that much? Are they at capacity or are they hurting for store fronts?

they want spots filled.

trust me after a year they will go up knowing if i'm doing good i'll pay it to stay.

My boy and I are wanting to get into the video encoding game.

If you don't mind me asking what software/system specs are you using to take vhs to dvd or pc format?

i'll find out for you, i'm not handling that aspect. i have a dude here who does all that stuff.

ok, gotta call today from the general manager at parmatown. i was approved for the location so i'll go drop him 1800 bucks today (first month plus 1000 sec. deposit.)

i have it saved on my voicemail, soon as i figure out how to get it off of visual voice mail, i'll upload it and record it.

one stipulation i have to abide by though, we can't do the full bill payment structure i had set up, only replinishment/billpay for the products i'm selling, no loss. Plus satellite television we can't offer. puts a dent in what i wanted to do, but there's ways around that.;)

dropped off a cashier's check for 1800.00 to the parmatown mall. tomorrow i'll start ordering supplies computers, etc. and start creating ideas for the layout of the store.

a friend of mine has a 2 year lease for 2k a month in a busy shopping center for his hobby shop....

is that high?

matter of fact here is on street view

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...+70706&ie=UTF8&geocode=FQ2Q0gEd6x2U-g&split=0

(it was fucking up for me.....paste 35293 la hwy 16 Denham Springs, LA 70706 into maps)
all the way to the right...3 from the end...red and blue sign

in LA? that's not high...

to get the exact same store as the one i posted above in another mall around here they wanted 2000 bucks. some other locations i had ran me 4000 bucks and up a month.

^^^^shit....rent could eat up all your profit at 4k a month

no, there's a reason those places are usually that high. the traffic in those higher rent places is that good.

out of that location alone, i was making 10k off of accessories sales alone before i even figured in what i made off of phone sales and other stuff.

@ DIH

I need something that can go on print advertising your web design and what you can do.

I can believe that. The hobby shop is 2 doors down from the main daquiri stand on that end of town plus there is a Subway 3 doors the other direction. What also helps is that when we play with the cars in parking lot, people on the highway can see us very well.

Whats funny is that I have seen the businesses nex to him come and go. That shopping center has a high turnover if you ask me. Since he moved the hobby shop there, I have seen several businesses come and go....hell even the ones near him and come and gone in only a few months.

Did u want me to do it as a graphic or as advertising "copy". Where were u planning on running this ad? I ask so that I may properly design & target this ad copy towards the proper demo group. Also send me text when u get a chance in reguards.
