Confidence is a must in the music industry. Once you have confidence as an artist you can bet that you will accumulate a following willing and ready to take on that number one spot. However, there is a very thin line between confidence and being delirious.

In an exclusive interview with Vibe, Baby-CEO of Cash Money records and mentor and "father figure" to Lil Wayne-sets the record straight about Lil Wayne's album, declaring that it is not a rock album and boosting on his protege's success in Hip Hop.

Baby stresses that Rebirth is not an album to be considered in the Rock category but more so an album that show's Wayne's experimental growth as an artist,

It’s not a rock record,” Baby told VIBE recently during an exclusive interview. That’s what I think people are getting misunderstood. When you speaking about a rock record, you think he’s got a guitar and everything, but it’s not that. It’s going to be some of those types of beats, but it’s just great music. I don’t think no artist can do what he about to get done. My son is a rock star.

It's no secret, Baby has always been a big supporter of Wayne. When people were sleeping on Wayne as a rapper Baby was there to represent for Wayne and continuously tell the world that Lil Wayne is the future. But is he better than Pac, Biggie, and Jay-Z? A lot of Wayne's fans would say that he is and so would Baby.

He can rap, he can sing, he’s just an artist,” he says. “I don’t think no one will ever be greater [than Wayne] because I don’t think no one puts in the time or the quality. If someone do come along, can you imagine what he’ll have to do? He got to put out on thousand mixtapes, do a thousand records [and] sell 100 million records. 2Pac, Jay-Z and Biggie didn’t get to the sh*t Wayne’s done.

For Wayne's album to be taken as Hip Hop would be ludicrous. People time and time again say that Hip Hop is evolving and that's fine it can evolve, but into something even so much as similar to "Prom Queen" is offensive. To add insult to injury, comparing Lil Wayne to 2Pac, Biggie, or Jay-s is just plain wrong.

Whether you are a Lil Wayne fan or not, the comparison listed above as well as in Baby's quote can be universally agreed to be truly unjust, unfair, and is like comparing grapes to cantaloupes. Wayne, though has moved a large amount of units in a short period of time has not mastered the lyrical crescendo of any of those MC's listed above; Wayne is still just a rapper.

of course he feels that way. that's his boo.

:lol::lol:

Somethings to understand: Baby cant read. Why take him serious?

Wayne comes from New Orleans - smaller demographic. Dude made it, but selling 100 million records or saying he's better than Jay Z, Biggie, and/or Pac - let BG's stash go, Baby.

um.... lil wayne is ass but you gotta give it to Baby for betting the house on Wayne. I mean Cash Money lost every major component and this nigga Baby said oh well Wayne is bout to "FUCK THE GAME UP" and he did...... literally
