Rhianna/Chris Brown..Maybe it's just me..

I agree with the bolded. I cannot and WILL NOT excuse what CB did to Rihanna, and I don't give a fuck who threw the first punch/hit, etc. It's never right to retaliate in such a way, man OR woman. FUCK THAT!:angry:

Tell em! Tell em why you mad shun! Tell em why you mad gatdamnit!!

I can't (and won't) condone what CB did to Rihanna. There's no excuse for it. End of discussion.

Damn, those animal pics are crazy...

ummm and some people are also abusive. in my own personal life, i have not experience a fight like that, and if i did, i would consider it abuse.

i think ppl are capin for CB cuz he is young...who do you think old abusers were...young abusers

i wonder were ppl just saying they are young to Ike n Tina, Bobby n Whitney, K-Ci and MJB, James Brown and damn near all of his women and etc.

also, Rihanna is gonna get most of the flack for staying as women do usually in these situations

let's not use youth to excuse behavior, let's use youth to try to correct behavior. being in the public eye just magnifies that need, especially since they have a young fan base.

both of them need help and counseling.

I don't condone it but it's front page news? When did Rhianna agree to be the poster woman for abused women???

When did she agree to be front page news and have Oprah of all people commenting on her plight? OPRAH goddamn it! :smh:

All I'm saying is that there is a relationship there. There is no telling what has transpired between those two in the past. Chris won this round. Maybe Rhianna has won a few herself? No one knows and no one should really care because that is they shit.

Is it volatile? Yes. Does it look bad? Yes. Should they be together? Probably not. But for everybody and they momma to be in this shit is a sign of the times. I saw the Ellen interview with Diddy and believe it or not I agree with him. He gave Chris and Rhianna a quiet place to sit down and talk shit out. Come to a resolution. If he does this shit again then maybe he should be hung out to dry but who says this isn't the last time this will ever happen? Oprah???

There was a mistake made and Chris nor Rhianna will ever be able to move past it because of what everybody has to say about it. Wouldn't you hate for somebody on the outside looking in to tell you what to do? Especially people who don't know shit about you or your relationship? How about if it were everybody?

It's really not the end of the discussion. Both of them have had abusive pasts. Rihanna talked on Tyra openly about her parents' bad relationship and how she had to "protect" her siblings from it- classic abused child language. She also talked about her anger issues in a prominent magazine about how she hit her brother over the head with a glass bottle. Chris talked on Tyra as well about having an abusive step-father that beat his mom regularly... Is it a coincidence that these two got together? Not at all.

I'm willing to bet that this is not the first time this has happened in their relationship. No I do not condone his behavior, but instead of finger pointing and being exploitative like the media has been, we need to realize that they both need help. No one has the right to hit anyone, no matter who is stronger or hits hardest or hit the most times, violence is violence, and they both could have died that night. The truth, in all likelihood is that if it wasn't CB who hit her, it would have been someone else. The same can be said for CB. Yes a man who hits you once will hit you again, and so will a woman...

The publicity comes with the fame and fortune. When celebrities use it to their [ultimate] financial benefit it's all good.

I say it's fair game.

I think the media is making a big deal of it, but that is because they are celebrities and every second of their life in public is scrutinized. I think the extra attention is GREAT though. Makes it VERY clear that battered women can be white or black and rich or poor. The younger the age that women see that this is wrong, the better their chances of not getting caught up in loving a man that beats them...

Also I don't know if you know that Rihanna said that this is not the first time he has done it... I don't know about you, but there is no way in hell I could stay with a man who punches me in the face...

But the real stars (not the attention whores) use there publicity to advertise a persona. It's entertainment. That's what we in this country love.

When did the shift come from the entertainment not being as important as the personal life???

Greg Street on the radio today was talking to Dream and he was like...Dream's album dropped today. He's written songs for everybody. Got songs all in the top ten. He will probably get like 10,000 hits on his myspace today. But let a story come out about him being behind in his child support payments to his baby momma and he getting over 1 million easy. :smh:

Why???

ummm b/c of what you said before...they are ppl

ppl aren't 1 dimensional...and yes you should look at an artist for their talent or lack there of BUT who they are as a person will come in to play

that happens w/ non celebrities. you have ppl who do things in a professional or academic capacity but some how something about them personally comes into play...those lines are always going to be crossed. like Sean says, it comes w/ the territory.

let's not forget it is about DV which is a VERY serious issue.

I mean CB is nominated for a Kids Choice Award....what does that mean now? What message can that potentially send? I know personally, I had to have a talk w/ my little sister about it b/c she told me that CB didn't look like an abuser so we had to talk about what an abuser looks like (no exact look, it could be anyone). I also talked to her about why she shouldn't put her hands on ppl also.

what happens in the dark always comes to light.

Started when this was invented.

TvSet.jpg

I need to take my ass to bed.

Not true. Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Joe Namath, Keith Sweat...all had tabloid worthy shit going on during there careers (along with countless others) and it wasn't front page or really given a damn about. OJ, Dr. J...

I think this shit turned the tide with Whitney and Bobby.

Something needs to happen to that cat...jail...a good ass kickin' or something. It's not like he snapped and hit/slapped her once(which is still unacceptable)...he beat her up! That ain't cool or overblown no matter how ya slice it. If that happened to my little sis, mom, daughter, etc., I'd have to go see that dude and we'd have to see if he could do to me what he did to her.

It's just a bitchmade move IMO.

Yeah, agreed. Dude just straight wailed on a woman that he's probably two or three times stronger than. Women can work a nerve, but as a man, you still have to have some semblance of self-control.

its amazing how much ppl were in that little 2 seater lambo
lol

for the no it alls here can anyone point out on rihanna the offensive and defensive wounds?

who fights in a 2 seater car and bites offensively.

"girl im gonna kill you" (then follows by a bite)

all isnt what it seems ppl, so to all you experts out there, and to all you oprah winfreys, you were not in the damn lambo.

what is muddling this case is Public Relations.

what was the first report? of an accident. after that first lie and coverup how can you know what is real and what is not? PR ppl, PR

I'm pretty tired of this whole thing ... they are young and can learn and grow from this ... people are being too hard on the both of them ... they both made a mistake and everybody needs to just let them move onf rom it ... but they do mos def need counselling ... I don't think they should stay together though ... they should take it as a learning experience and move on IMO

c/s

But b/c they are both young Black superstars, this is going to happen. Aside from talking about the stimulus package, the state of the economy, the 'war' against terrorism, the media needs some sort of balance & they chose this debacle as one of the solutions to that. Now if this were Frankie Muniz & Hilary Duff getting into it in the same manner as CB & Rihanna did... this shit would be squashed very quickly.

I think the whole thing is being blown out of proportion. People act as though this doesnt happen everyday around the world. I think they need to get counseling and work it out. If she wants him back then so be it... I think people are bein too hard on him though
