Yeah ... I was reading over some stats and they were talking about how rarely events go submission-less ... and how rarely there are so few knockouts and such. The main one of the night, obviously, been Machida making 5 minute work of Thiago Silva.

Yeah - we were all caught WAY off guard when Lindland got taken out so quickly. I really hope Belfort's back. Vitor's always been a good fighter, and he's still relatively young too (only in his early-30s) ... damn ... thinking back he had 2 - 3 fights with Couture WAY back in the day. He's been in the game ages.

Yeah ... I really hope that ALVES/GSP is a solid fight. I've gotta pull for my fellow Canadian GSP ... but I respect Thiago's skills. He's well-rounded and all of us locally were really impressed with his battle with Koscheck (tough son of a bitch, for real) in 2008. Alves delivered a SHITLOAD of devastating kicks to him trying to chop him down, and Kosch' hung in there and showcased his warrior spirit that night.

thiago hit em- flash knockout for 2 seconds literally if that- dude got woozy hit the canvas put his arms and legs up to go in the guard if thiago pounced- ref stopped the fight :hmm:

6'11 scrub was getting pounded - he fell down went into the guard position for when his opponent jumped on him- ref waves the fight off again :hmm:

diego does no better than stevenson but does his nobetter in a flashier manner with kicks that miss or are blocked and punches that never land or hurt - the entire time rogan doesnt say shit when Joe connects with his jabs and acts like Diego is dominating Stevenson when he clearly isnt doing shit but working his side of a draw. Fuckin horrible shit

The UFC and its decision to stop fights, usually as soon as a fighter hits the mat, is very detrimental to a fighter's career. Say what u will about ol' PRIDE but you had to have an eye socket hanging out to argue a stoppage.

Yeah - the quick stoppages hurt.

I will say this though ... it was nice to actually see some finishes and MORE of the undercard fights too (in the 3-hour Spike broadcast). UFC 94 was cool and all ... but remember how 8 of the 10 total fights that night went to the judges' scorecards? That event had decisions like a muthafucka ... and that pissed me the fuck off.

I don't care though ... I was chillin' with my peeps and eatin' good food. We hit the grub, for real this past Saturday!
