STREET FIGHTER IV Official BGOL Thread + Video Review!

Yo, I beat the game on Easy with Ken and got about 3-5 perfects and about 3-4 Ultra Finishes. Akuma came out at the end after Seth and I beat him easily.

Why wasn't he selectable afterwards? The only hidden player I unlocked was Fei Long at the time.

You begin with 16 characters. Beat arcade mode with certain characters to
unlock the other 9. Here's the tree:

Begin --> Unlock

Abel --> Fei Long
Balrog
Blanka
C. Viper --> Cammy
Chun-Li --> Gen
Dhalsim
E. Honda
El Fuerte
Guile
Ken
M. Bison --> Rose
Rufus
Ryu --> Sakura --> Dan
Sagat
Vega
Zangeif

Unlocking Akuma:

Once you unlock Fei, Cammy, Gen, Rose, Sakura and Dan, the next on the list
is Akuma. You must play through arcade mode again with these requirements
(and recommendations):

---Keep the timer at 99 seconds (don't change to infinite or 60 or 30)
---Get at least one perfect
---Don't use any continues

Akuma will appear once you beat Seth. Beat Akuma and you'll unlock him.

Unlocking Gouken:

First, beat the game once with Akuma. Then, play with him again and this
time do the following:

---Keep the timer at 99 seconds (don't change to infinite or 60 or 30)
---Get at least two perfects
---Get at least two Ultra finishes
---Don't use any continues

Gouken will appear once you beat Seth. Bit Gouken and you'll unlock him.

Unlocking Seth:

beat the game with everyone else.

For unlocking any character, if you want, you may set the rounds to 1 and the
level to easiest if you wish. Just for Akuma and Gouken, just make sure that you
don't die in the process.

Got this off of the Capcom board, but this is what I did to get Akuma, And Gouken:

Some people say that you don't have to do them in a row.

But I did.

Before I describe how I unlocked Gouken, you must have done the following three things.

-Beat the game with every single character and unlock the ones that you can get first.
-Use any character to perform two perfects and two ultra finishes in a row, then play the game like normal without getting any more perfects or ultra finishes, not to mention not lose any matches or even continue! If you did it correctly, a red slash should follow through the middle of the screen, confirming your fight with Akuma.
-Beat Akuma to have him unlocked permanently. This trick can only work once you got Akuma, for he's the one character I used to do it.

I started out as Akuma. Set it for one round only and set the match to thirty seconds.

I chose Akuma.

For the first two matches, I got them in the corner and just dominate them without getting hit.

For the next three matches after the first two, I let myself get hit until my revenge meter was lit up. Then I went on with my assault and got my opponents's energy to the point of near death. Then I unleashed the Wrath Of The Raging Demon (Akuma's ultra finish).

After you get two perfects and three ultra finishes, DO NOT get any more perfects or ultra finishes. Doing so will not allow you to battle Gouken, but Akuma instead.

Once you get two perfects and three ultra finishes, get hit and beat them. But do not lose any of the matches or even continue. Doing so will result in you having to start over.

You'll know that you did the trick correctly when you see a red slash cutting through the middle of your screen right after defeating Seth and seeing your win quote, confirming your battle with Gouken.

Beat Gouken to unlock him permanently.

That is how I did it. I did this requirement all in one row. First two matches with two perfects. The next three matches with three ultra finishes. After that, I played the game like normal, did not get a perfect or do an ultra finish afterwards.

Gouken should be yours after all that...!

:DIf he didnt take that damage he would be unbeatable in the right hands :smh::smh:

I love the New Raging Demon - its easier in the game and does maddddddd damage:yes::yes:

Yea man Akuma is a beast.

But he takes WAY too much fucking damage. And I wish his only super move wasn't the Raging Demon.

That dude had some excellent fucking timing!

I didn't even know you could do a dragon punch after a hurricane kick.

And Bison didn't even get off any special moves and he still kicked his ass.

/runs off to training mode...

Fuck that shit! Those Japanese have had this game a whole 5 days before us. I ain't backing down from them! Them fools can catch a Tiger Destruction just like anybody else.:hmm:

Matches online I hate the ones that REALLY FUCKING LAG and the game moves at like 2-4 frames per second.

No lag here. Either your connection sucks or you're not filtering out the people with shit connections using the matchup settings.

anyone in the gamestop tournament today?

yeah i participated in it today. ninjas used a fucking 360 for the tournament:smh:. I forfeited 3/4 of the way into the first round of opening round because that 306 controller is fucking garbage. ninjas couldn't change the button configurations and that 360 controller will do you justice during the gameplay. :smh::smh::smh::smh:. it was hard as hell to pull a move off. Not really going to spend the whole day ranting because i entered it just for fun. besides none of the ninjas at my gamestop tournament is going to go far, because i seen a few ninjas using the SF4 analog controller and I'm sure it will be illegal to use that into the second round. Plus justin wong is the best SF4 player in America, chinatown in NYC had SF4 months ago.

360 controllers are ONLY good for first person shooters.

co-sign.
