bump for the advice!

im sensing a little bit of sarcasm...
my opinion is the blackberry storm. i heard it got a few bugs but they mightve fixed it by now. but if you like windows mobile like i do... your best bet is the HTC Touch Pro - sick phone with a slide out keyboard.

No get the Samsung Omnia... its better than the Blackberry Storm !

Co-sign.

CD, would you happen to know of any apps, themes, or games that are good for the Omnia? Just got it from Verizon and installed a theme that gave me a few glitches. Just curious.

Delicious is now mobile...

delicious to go
deliciousmobilebeta.png

Delicious Mobile betaWe’ve just launched a mobile version of Delicious. You can find it at http://m.delicious.com. This is a beta and represents our first real dabbling in mobile browsing, so we’ve started conservatively. The site is designed to work on as many devices as possible, although YMMV.

Delicious Mobile enables you to sign into your account and browse your bookmarks, tags, inbox, and other data. You can also browse popular and recent bookmarks and tags from the Delicious community. This means you can:

* Ditch your phone’s bookmarks — they’re too hard to keep updated, organized, and synchronized. Just use your Delicious bookmarks instead!
* Tag-stalk on the go — use your Network to follow what your friends are reading, no matter where you are.
* Break the tedium — browse the tastiest bookmarks on the Web next time you’re standing in line to buy the new Guns N’ Roses (wait, people still buy CDs?).

Next up on our to-do list is to integrate our social search engine into the mobile site. We welcome your feedback on what you’d like to see in the future, so let us know what you think.

Whew! We were getting a little worried here that the Sprint Treo Pro, that sleek n' shiny update to the Treo 800w, was getting lost in all the Palm Pre hubbub.

Luckily TreoCentral forum member elistone was kind enough to finally post some of those luscious details on this beaut. What is curious is that evidently it only has aGPS and not standalone-GPS (a contentious issue with 800w owners). Of course WMExperts will do a comparions of both devices as soon as we get out mitts on one to verify.

So without further ado...Sprint Treo Pro:

* Robust battery life with an 1500 mAh li-lon battery and 5 hours of continuous talk time.
* Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition (OS) providing a feature rich experience (with Enterprise SCMDM options)
* 128MB program memory (DDR) and 256 non-volatile memory (175MB of user store)
* A-GPS – for navigation and turn-by-turn directions - Autonomous & Simultaneous GPS allows points of interests searching and mapping from contacts.
* Instant-on WiFi short-cut key - WPA/WPA2 certified
* 2.0 Megapixel resolution Camera for still and video shots with BPP Basic Printing Profile
* Price: $549 retail; $249 2-year contract

The Treo™ Pro by Palm® is a feature rich Windows Mobile 6.1 OS PDA which is a perfect balance of robust productivity and simplicity. Features include embedded WiFi with a dedicated short-cut key, A-GPS, EV-DO REV.A and a 2.0 mega pixel camera. This device has an updated stylish and slim form factor design. Data services run on Sprint’s Nationwide Mobile Broadband Network.

While nothing earth shattering, it should be a strong business messenger device for Sprint. Look for it on Sunday, the 25th this month.

I'm lucky I found this thread to fill all my Kaiser needs. Anyone know how to extend the amount of rings your phone allows? Currently on my Tilt, my mp3 ringtone only plays for about 5-7 seconds before it goes to the voicemail, anyway around that?

There are so many times I wish I had this program. This will save you from a hard reset after installing some application that fucks up your phone:

SafeMode for PocketPC v1.02
http://freewareppc.com/utilities/safemodeforpocketpc.shtml
safemodeforpocketpc.gif

Description:
SafeMode for PocketPC is a system utility, designed to help you in certain situations when your PDA may freeze or enter a soft-reset loop.

It behaves somewhat similar to the original Safe Mode on Windows PCs, by not loading 3rd party startup programs, today plugins or services.

This way, you have the possibility of uninstalling programs that freeze your PocketPC.

How it works:
- If your PDA freezes or enters a soft-reset loop, soft-reset it. In a few seconds, you will see a message in the upper part of the screen, asking you to: "Press Action to enter safe mode".
- If you press "Action" within 3 seconds, the PDA will soft-reboot again and enter safe mode.
- A blue "Safe Mode" screen will appear instead of the standard Today window.
- In Safe Mode, the Startup programs and Today plugins are not started, allowing you to remove the buggy software - hopefully not one of my programs ;)
- On next normal soft-reset, if you don't press the "Action" key, the Startup programs and Today plugins are started normally.

TouchFlo 3D
and it now finally works
Download links below info:
note that the first link is a full ROM made by Garmin from XDA dev and the second link is just the TouchFlo3d software shell to add on.After using both for two weeks Garmin's full ROM seems to be the best but you will need to extract the standby fix from the second link because the sleep mode won't work and your Kaiser will remain with full backlight

I have a Samsung Blackjack II, and would like to have IM either in the browser, or stand-alone application that will work with my yahoo account. Mobile Yahoo's IM site returns a 502 error, and their standard site will not display correctly. I'm now looking at Mundo. Has anyone used that program or know of something else that will do what I want?
