you should buy the .nets and stuff too if you plan on making that a biz .

until you get bread to design, search bgol for the wordpress bloggin game, get a good theme, or joomla and make a site..you're gonna come up big time with that domain playa.

My advice is make a clear plan of

who your users are or will be
How will you makes money? Adsences
how will you get the users
whats your cost


Keep at stick to your plan holla if you need some help. Ive started a few web only businesses and have a good idea of how to get one started.

I am a web developer I have been doing this for years -- I have worked on a lot of projects and consulted on projects over the years .......so here are my 2 cents..

future reference
NEVER put your .com name out in the open if it is not developed
Your idea can be copied and duplicated in another form.

your .com name is cool no need to buy anymore . net .etc

nyceverthing -- is a lot of stuff ...
Lots of ground to cover

You gotta state your business plan so I can give you a quote
Nah just playing keep that shit to yourself
You can get this done (done I mean up and running -- I dont know how much stuff you want to put on the site nyceverything is a lot of ground to cover potentially) for as little as $250 -->see oversees motherfuckers on craigslist to up over $75000 for some web development firm

If it was me I am guessing I would charge you at least $5000 to get this thing up --> maybe more depending on what you want

Oh yeah when you talking to developers dont be afraid to ask them to sign a non-compete ... it's kinda of useless really but it lets the developer know you are not fucking around .. and that's usually enough for them to keep their mouth shut

like previous poster said.. try drupal/joomla ... I use drupal on my websites and it has a lot of options and addons


Another Option:
Partnering with a developer based on profits alone and no money upfront.
The web developer who helps without getting paid you is going to be concerned with how much he is going to get paid and how YOU are going to sell this thing.
If you are a good salesman you could probably find a developer on craigslist who could get this thing in motion with a reasonable split.

So Motivate and make sure that developer is working


In NYC they have events where they have venture capitalists that will fund your project. check meetup.com and look for the tech events.. go to these events and you will meet these people and web developers.

The name is catchy but it's going to be more on how you sell and network your domain and keep them people on your site that will make it become successful

A web developer takes your idea and makes it happen on the internet. They know how to monetize and market your project on the net.
A web developer might design the frontend (the part you see) and the backend (database) or they may hire someone to do either areas or hire someone for both areas.

The bigger the budget the more I hire someone else to do the stuff.
This project for example I would do primarily on my own.

BGOL is basically a messageboard web site for the most part ... the system they use is VBULLETIN which is like joomla/drupal etc written in PHP
This could be a 1 person site.
HNIC gets mad traffic so he could have a few people on this bitch
Porn Sites have a smaller pool to choose from to make money

Google Adsense is your friend

Oh make sure you get a WEB DEVELOPER and not a Web Designer.
