My Romantic experiences with African men have been...

^^^The only problem with ignoring people like this is that their ignorance remains unchecked to spread like a malicious virus.

True dat ... I always correct them but in a way that makes them realize themselves that they are being stupid ... I'll usually say something like "Oh I didn't know I had to be either African or Black ... I thought I was both" ... that usually opens their eyes

Another big problem I find is with SOME Black people that don't at all identify with their African roots ... I had a West Indian woman once tell me that her roots are from Grenada and have nothing to do with Africa ... I was like:confused: She kept arguing with me about it until finally this White lady walked over and said to her "Are you stupid ... all of our roots start in Africa ... even mine" ... boy did that shut her up:lol:

^^^I guess the western media have really played a major role in fueling this ignorance by only highlighting the problems that exist in Africa as opposed to the positive things that are going on.

I have love for all black people regardless of their geographical location and refuse to succumb to self hate and the perpetuation of baseless hatred.

I've dated women from a variety of backgrounds and have never felt the need to dominate, humiliate or otherwise treat them with anything but respect and I know that I can't be the exception to the rule.

Yeah to me Black is Black regardless of what country you come from ... that's why I was a bit confused at first coming into this thread

What part of Africa are you from btw (if you wanna share) ... I'm from a country called Oromia ... it's under the Ethiopian Empire:)

Oh that reminds me ... one of the silly boys on here called me Somali one time as an insult:confused:

^^^I'm Nigerian.

Was born in the UK and currently live and work in London.

I don't have any problem sharing because there's no logical reason why I should feel personally accountable for any criminal activities carried out by any crooks who just happen to be Nigerian by birth or nationality.

I'm going to do a search on Oromia to find out more about the country of your ancestors.

It's funny how some people on here try to disrespect others based on whatever stupid stereotypes they have running through their diseased minds.

Alot of what you read about my country will probably be about our fight for independence from Ethiopia ... I mean we aren't even on the map ... that's how hard the struggle has been:(

Naija! Me too. Ultimately ...

What part of Nigeria? I was born in the UK too, spent a year or so in Togo and Nigeria for high-school, lived in the states for a while, went back to the UK then came back. I haven't visited Naija in a minute though. Last time I was there I was in PH and we were kicking ass in Atlanta at the World Cup. (Fuck Roberto Bagio!)

Good times ... good times ...

I just read the replies in this thread. :hmm:

It's still mad ig'nant shit going on in here. Then again, it's BGOL we're talking about.

Now I'll say this, if you've had a pattern of stupid experiences with stupid people, irrespective of their heritage, it's probably because you're quite stupid your self. It's a really simple algorithm if you think about it. An arithmetic so to speak. LOL.

^^^ I'm from Abia State. :)

Just got back from a 3 week holiday in Nigeria a couple of days ago.

It was a blast and a half as I got to see family that I hadn't seen in a long time.

Weather was hot and beautiful and it was really refreshing to be surrounded by almost 99.9% heads that were all unashamedly black, African and fucking proud of it.:yes::yes:

I'm now back in London, freezing my ass off.:lol:

another fallacy

ok, from my experiences with certain women *which were African...from Ghana, one from Liberia, and the other one South African to be exact* and they catch a lot of flak because they want to stay in shape.

To clarify the quote you made so there wouldn't be any drama linking up to what I stated, I've seen many SOL members OUTSIDE of BGOL. So, please, do not make nothing out of that statement I made about Desire.

Cry me a river. People are talking about their OWN experiences. Hence the title MY. In my interaction, and I have known over 2 or 3 hundred African dude be it through high school, college, living in NYC, or interacting with them as clients at work, and I stated my opinions. Not ALL African men are like that.

*wipes tears*

"They hate Africans...ignorant American muddasuckas"

*sniff*

I dated an African for a little bit in graduate school...he was very affectionate and enjoyed trying to please me and make me happy. I never noticed anything different about him from other men really, besides his very dark complexion. Honestly, he was probably less grimy than other NYC cats I met while up in NYC

^^^Probably the smartest post in this whole thread so far.

It never fails to amaze me how black people find so many ways to discriminate against themselves thus proving that moronic bigotry is not the sole or exclusive preserve of the white man.:smh:

You've got fucking twats in here venting because they were stupid and greedy enough to fall for "419" scams that only a complete moron would get caught out by, and all of a sudden, all West African men are potential stalkers, wife beaters and rapists.

I thought that's was how most of White America see's African-American men?

Please anyone who was got by a 419 scam please, raise your hand.

Face facts dawg, u can say what you want about blacks in america but we do not:

Cannabilize on a large scale and don't even deny the shit happens. The delicacy for the most vicious tribes there coming up were kids still in the mothers womb.

Rape gangs(to the point aids infected women started doing it out of revenge)

Mutilation of women. Favorably clitoral circumcision

So what do u think mufuckers from these upbringings are gonna do to american women who they have even less respect for?

So u can miss me with that shit dawg. Cause nothing I quoted was a lie. You yourself may not come from that background cause I clearly said not all but that don't mean shit don't get down like that

So miss me with that shit dawg. That shit wasn't made up.

^^^The fact that you actually admit to hating Nigerians as a group disqualifies you from making any objective commentary on this subject.

You talk as if the very things you accuse some Africans of doing are not being practiced by African-American Gang Bangers in South Central Los Angeles.

The Rapper Big Lurch from the group Cosmic Slop Shop decided to murder his room mate Tynish Yasis, by stabbing her to death before proceeding to cutting open her chest and then ripping out her lungs to chow down on is African-American.

biglurchnt5.jpg

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Lurch

Does the fact that he committed this heinous crime then mean that all African-American males should be seen as being potential cannibalistic murderers?

The Sacramento based rapper, Brother Lynch Hung, is fond of rapping about cannibalism, rape and a whole heap of evil shit on most of his albums and to my knowledge his ass isn't from any African country that I know of.

Or are you trying to imply that African men are more likely than their African-American male counterparts to mistreat African-American women or be inclined to commit acts of rape and cannibalism on hapless American women?

Bad people do bad things regardless of what their geographical/ethnic origins may be, so it's pretty damn stupid to just blatantly generalize about things that you really don't have a fucking clue about.

this is how i know you don't pay attention. you pulled up 2-3 rappers and what they either talk about or did.

I clearly said:

maybe YOU missed that part.

Or are you trying to imply that African men are more likely than their African-American male counterparts to mistreat African-American women or be inclined to commit acts of rape and cannibalism on hapless American women?

what i am saying is people regardless of what race they are or where they come from will be more likely to accept that as normal habits faster then those that do not come from those environments. you don't think people just up and started doing that? they witnessed it from generation to generation. shit didn't start over night and it won't end overnight either.

And don't get all crybaby over the general consensus of Nigerians, ghanans, etc. they gave the rest of the world a reason to mistrust them. again nobody just came up with that shit overnight. if that was the case why do you not hear the same thing about kenyans, morrocans, swazilands, nigers, namibians, and so on?

this is how i know you don't pay attention. you pulled up 2-3 rappers and what they either talk about or did.

^^^ Trust me, my ability to pay attention to what's being said is functioning just fine. I also ave no problem reading between the lines especially when a self-confessed bigot is spouting gibberish and exaggerating facts to add weight to what amounts to being a feeble argument at best.

The rappers I mentioned were just an example of warped individuals who are prepared to do or say anything to increase record sales regardless of how outlandish or obscene their premise is.

Going by your ridiculous argument, would it be safe to assume that Big Lurch and Brother Lynch Hung are only reflecting what they saw or heard about in their own communities or were they just making shit up as they went along? (I guess we really know what's up with Big Lurch since he's currently serving life for murder.)

^^^So basically you're saying that people who grow up around Gangbangers are more likely to become gangbangers themselves just because they live in the same neighborhood?

If a white politician said that, most would accuse him/her of blatant racial profiling.

^^^There's nothing to "cry" about.

I could really care less about who trusts or mistrusts me based on my ethnic origins.

The Western world is responsible for much of the chaos, corruption and destruction that exists in most of West Africa by way of the Slave Trade, Colonialism and the current unfair trade agreements and exploitation of natural resources found in West Africa that obtains at the moment.

Western Media shapes the way in which many Africans and their societies are viewed at large and people like you lap all of this up and use it as fuel to justify your bigotry rather than digging deeper beneath the surface to really find out what's real.

If I had the same warped mentality and close minded attitude that you seem have, I'd assume that all African-Americans were criminally minded individuals with nothing better to do with their time than breed illegitimate children, use/sell drugs and generally pull random drive-by's on motherfuckers for fun.

Thankfully, I'm not that gullible.

Yup. environment influences many people's actions. So, if a teenager growing up in the hood and all he sees as father figures/role models, there is a much greater chance of him emulating their actions. Same thing if he lived in a positive environment with both parents and both parents instilled a positive environment the childs more likely to emulate those actions.

Why do you think you'll see gen 1 gen 2 gen 3 still living destitute. Hell why do u think religion for that matters exist? Behaviors, beliefs, patterns carried down from hand to hand.

but I'm not telling anyone here nothing they didn't know anyway. Your just not happy with the response because it has to do with your origins. Everything can't have a silver lining to it. Its life.

And you can't keep running with the western civilization ruined it for those particular countries. If that was the case south africa would still be under british thumb.

Same thing if he lived in a positive environment with both parents and both parents instilled a positive environment the child's more likely to emulate those actions.

^^^The fact that a child is brought up in a two parent/stable household is no guarantee that said child will be stable as evidenced by the many cases of teenagers running amok Columbine style that get reported from time to time.

Not every single teenager brought up in a gang infested area is going to become a gang banger as I'm sure you're aware so your rebuttal argument is as subjective as you are and totally lacking in objectivity to say the least.

Why do you think you'll see gen 1 gen 2 gen 3 still living destitute. Hell why do u think religion for that matters exist? Behaviors, beliefs, patterns carried down from hand to hand.

^^^But all of the factors and situations you've mentioned above are also dependent on the individual attitudes of the people exposed or subject to them.

All human beings have the ability to choose between right and wrong which is why a young person from a poor background given half a chance to better themselves through education stands a better chance of achieving greatness more so than one from a wealthier environment.

but I'm not telling anyone here nothing they didn't know anyway.

^^^No, you're just showing us how ignorant of the facts you actually are by purposefully avoiding the real subject at hand and seeking to further confuse the subject by pointless prevarication and distortions of the truth.

Your just not happy with the response because it has to do with your origins. Everything can't have a silver lining to it. Its life.

^^^My origins?

What in the hell are you talking about?

I was brought into this world by two incredibly wonderful people who raised me to be a respectful, open minded and inquisitive individual.

They thought and encouraged me to seek out knowledge and inform my mind whilst maintaining an awareness of my culture so I'm not particularly sure what "origins" you're actually alluding to.

My only unhappiness stems from the fact that I'm debating with a self-confessed bigot whose ego prevents him from seeing that he's really no different to prejudiced white people who perpetuate hate for no reason.

And you can't keep running with the western civilization ruined it for those particular countries. If that was the case South Africa would still be under British thumb.

^^^And you need to stop living in self-imposed denial if you actually believe that the West isn't responsible for much of the chaos that exists across the length and breadth of Africa as well as the negative self-image that has so many black people feeling inferior and wallowing in self-hate.

As an African man, I have love and respect for all people of African descent whether they hail directly from the Motherland or were born in the vast diaspora.

I choose to celebrate the uniqueness that we all bring to the table of life as we collectively seek to survive and even prevail in a world system that seeks to constantly diminish our positive contributions to the worlds history.

And it goes without saying that I have nothing but love and a deep appreciation for all of my black sisters be they African/African-American or West Indian.

Regardless of geographical location, sisters are on that next level other worldly existential tip that has real brothers feeling healed and replenished in the face of mad adversity.

That's where my heads at.

Ok dude. I'm cool. I don't know why you keep saying "don't take offense". I don't have a problem with people expressing their "opinions" because all it is is an opinion which could very well be dumb and baseless.

Nigerians get stereotyped for their scamming escapades as much as Jews for their miserly shifty ways and Chinese, Germans, French, Mexicans, etc. One would be naive to ignore the role that media plays in popularizing these stereotypes and manufacturing consent. No need to get into all of that.

I do however believe that one delves into the realm of bigotry - and put simply, stupidity - when such ignorance is condoned or even embraced.

Happens in war and has been done by UN peace troops as well while in war zones. It is done in most wars in Europe as well.
#The Russians and German routinely did it during WW2.
Happened in vietnam and probably every war since.
I not condoning it just emphasisng that it's a human, not African practice.

Mutilation of women. Favorably clitoral circumcision
This is a cultural/religious practice, primarily practiced in certain Muslim communities that has not been stamped out, but not only specific to certain African groups

Ok. No offense dude, but this last question is mad stupid and exceedingly CACish.

*CAC voice*

"Oh my God. Do you people have a Zebra problem? Oh my God, I just watched Madagascar! Good heavens!"

:hmm:

Have you ever been pulled over by a cop because you were DWB? or profiled because of your melanin issues?

Come on man, you gotta be smarter than that. No way you're this inept.

Shane. Brutha. Come on man. This can't be the pinacle of the foolishness going on in this thread.

I'm saying ...

again you probably truly don't realize because you probably don't do business/trade on international levels. i have. international traders in many lines of products ban nigerians from doing business with them. especially in electronics, consumer goods. whether they are in the uk or in nigeria.

i don't even think nigerians from nigeria can participate in ebay or other sites neither. but don't take my word for it see for yourself. visit sites like alibaba.com and similar site and you'll see the bans/warnings, etc.

I guess all scamming and civilized sophisticated corruption shit going on in the Western financial community is not as crude because after all CACs said so, they can't be wrong.

Look, i'm not denying that there's mad corruption in Nigeria and other countries in Africa but this is a reason to vindicate an entire continent? yeah yeah yeah, you've said over and over that you don't mean ALL, in which case, why the fuck is it even relevant then?

[redundancy]The world is full of wicked malicious people, but not ALL of them though.[/redundancy]

because i never condemned an entire continent. never said africa. i said nigeria, ghana, congo, and others. i have and will continue to condemn certain countries for business purposes without question. and if a woman asks about safety i will point out the barbarism that takes place in some areas and to keep an open eye and ear on individuals that hail from those areas.

And oh yeah, you conveniently chose to ignore my question about South Africa too

because i could care less. personally i thought they were doing better, if they are not then they are not. it's not affecting me in any way.
