Why is it that when a black person becomes successful enough to get them self out of the hood, other broke niggas are bitter and think that nigga is disconnected with it.

What do they expect?

So a black man goes from making less then $30,000 a year, living in a 1 bedroom apartment with rats and roaches. . .to making a couple million, and he suppose to stay in that same fucked up apartment with the rest of you broke niggas.
Anything that deals with being progressive is looked on as uncool. what the fuck?

The American Black Community is one of the most dysfunctional I've ever come across. Its one where they don't encourage the next generation to live better than they did.

Co-sign. Fuck the hood. I moved to the burbs east of Cleveland...1 county away. I was mad when I found out that there is a bus line near me. It runs a little less than once an hour and cut off early, but still. I wanted to avoid the people that typically ride the bus lines...really poor people who look to take rather than work for themselves.

I had an apartment in Coventry on the border of East Cleveland. I got deployed overseas and found out that my apartment had been broken into. I got back and moved. Now, I am doing good. My wife got done with nursing school and is making $52K, I got a govt. job making $38, we are good. I am a suburb dude. I want to come home to the same shit I left in my place. That doesn't seem like too much to ask, but in the hood it is. I can't be living with roaches (the real ones or the people kind). Fuck that. Outkast said it best: "You gotta get up get out and get something. Don't let the days of your life pass by. You need to get up get out and get something. Don't spend all your time trying to get high. you need to get up get out and get something. How will you make it if you never even try. You need to get up get out and get something. Speaking of that, I am going to take the wife to Mongolian Barbecue tomorrow. I haven't been there since I moved at the end of '06. They closed Que Tal (IMO it was a much better join than Chippotle), McNulty's Pub stopped selling my favorite sandwich the Philly Cheesesteak. Shit has changed up there, man.

But for real, East Cleveland police came to the scene 4 hours later and the stupid robbers left a crowbar at the scene and EC police didn't even take it as evidence to fingerprint or anything. I called Heights police and they wouldn't touch it because they didn't want to step on toes. But for me, the best thing about lake county is The Dollar show at Loeman's Plaza. I go there 3 times a week :dance:

Thats cool and all, but when does it stop?..I could see if you're young with no plan, because you have time to get it together...But when you're a grown man still on the corner doing nothing with your life, no plan, stuck in the hood, that's when it becomes a problem

Virtually every movie star and rock star has been called a sell out at one time, especially in country music. Garth Brooks and people like that are seen as sellouts in the eyes of "real" country people.

It's not a Black or White thing. It's more of a thing of when you come from a community, people expect you to speak for said community. Jews seem to be the only people who get this right for some reason.

Rednecks, niggaz, and Mexicans seem to just be happy getting rich as fuck, moving far away as possible, and going for self. Jews leave home and are told by their parents explicitly "Help another Jew". That is their 1 mission they are given by their parents, not "buy me a house" or "marry a fake ass silicone bitch". "Help another Jew" is their mantra, and I give them props for doing that.
