Why "only?"

Because....I know the story....Was he truly that great...was he the greatest...I mean, did he cure aids...besides Rap, what did he do in his 24yrs of life that was so worthy of a movie.....

I think The Express was more worthy of the public's attention...then this movie....

you must be on one hell of a dry spell...

naw...Im just saying.....no real point to beat a dead horse...ya dig...the movie was okay...but really...12yrs is not enough time to tell a story...tell this story in a few more years...most of the people who went to see this..already knew the history between pac and big....its some what of a fresh wound...so we still know about it....

Since when do you have to be "heroic" to be worthy of a movie? Have you seen Raging Bull or Goodfellas?

Both can exist in the same universe. :smh:

Otis....understand..I agree about white people and how stupid their movies are....but seriously...We as people have greater stories that can be turned into major movies besides the 5yr career span of a rapper...

We have a black president....we have to stand for greater images of our people...before all the great stories where only made into tv movies...like the Tuskegee airmen or the one with mos def as the inventor of the artificial heart...

The express was great...and a movie like that should have done better then Notorious..I mean Ernie Davis made real history....Biggie wasn't the 1st rapper, he wasnt the 1st platinum selling artist... so what made his life story, greater the the 1st black man to win the Heisman....

I guess we will continue to support bullshit

you dont have to be heroic......but mobsters....and prize fighters...that have a legit career...that can be researched and proven..often have greater interest...hence the reference to The Express...We can all google...and see that Ernie Davis was the 1st black man to win the Heisman....but can we really research and find out if Christopher Wallace was really moving that much weight...I dont doubt that he sold a few rocks here and there....but he aint no king pin...so again, his story is telling our kids...sell dope....make some raps..and u can get out the ghetto, because your dope stories will sell....and clearly that formula has been working ever since..

You've got a totally wrong idea of what this movie is all about. I think that's your problem. The story of Biggie is just the vehicle for a compelling portrait of a pretty memorable time in the culture and the country.

Then what was it about...I believe this was based on his life...not based on the character he created, but based on the life and years he spent on this earth....It basically told us how he became....what we know him as now....So if my synopsis is wrong then please enlighten me.....

But know this...If some one makes a movie based on your life, I hope they make sure that portray you as the BGOL ass hole, we all know and love...dont sugar coat that shit one bit....

exactly, doesnt sound like he saw it.

No, I saw it...the whole king pin point was, based on the part...when his mother kicked him out...and he was up in that room...and he was saying he had a couple people working for him...He made it seem as if he had moved up from low level street runner to boss level...then when he did his bid...he came home..just to be back on the low level street runner...

I guess I over analyze too much, but if D-Roc put him on....and he moved up, wouldnt he have taken D-Roc with him, wouldn't D-rock be on a boss level....and if that was true...then when he got out...and was back hustling...him or D-Roc wouldnt have been caught seen selling on the corners...Bosses dont do that petty level shit....especially when D-Roc took the gun charge because he didnt have no priors.....Now....If I didnt see the movie, yall saw...then what did yall see....because I know how the streets work a lil, and on my block, that hollywood shit dont make sense....

Il chek the movie out once i get a good copy online..yea i said it downloading that bitch.

but am not overly enthusiastic about this flick.

I know that....I was talking about in the movie...you know how must rappers like to over exaggerate their drug days...nigga who actually sold weed, raps about selling blow...niggas who never sold a day in they lives rap about being bosses...and make deals with pablo...

Hell Biggie was always on some "boss" mentality type shit, why u think he started calling him self Frank White...

i thought the movie sucked, the characters looked nothing like the real life characters with the exception of Faith when she was at her best. Too much stuff was sugar coated. I think puff and big's mom didn't want to offend anybody and get really in depth with alot of the negative shyt that actually happened. the abuse, the coke, the gangsters big and puff hung around, etc.... like someone said it's really to early to make a movie about this shyt, especially if you don't want to incriminate people. I've saw vh1 and youtube documentaries about big that were better than this shyt. His life was that or atleast what they showed was a regular entertainer---women and shyt........they didn't even show his many beautiful girls. They acted like it was only his baby mama, kim, faith, and a couple of groupies. They depicted his first baby mom as an average looking girl..........we saw the pics in xxl and source a few years ago, she's busted. The film sucked, it was watchable because i was a fan, but at the end of the day, it sucked. There's no way puff and his mom should have had so much say in this shyt.....because they sugar coated too much crap for a pleasant legacy for them all. To me big was just a rapper, boring movie. Say if jay z was gone. a movie about him would be better, because he's more than a rapper. he's or if he was gone---would be none as a business man, rapper, etc.... there would just be more stories in his shyt. We all know somebody like Tupac would have several stories in his movie, but big didn't----he wasn't political, super wild, very spiritual, didn't have any business's, etc.......... this movie was trying to cram shyt in a 1hr 30 min film and was missing so much shyt, but that's good caz i was waiting for it to end.

according to this movie.....so big and puff never had any real arguments, big never did any drugs other than weed? big never hung around any gangsters? big never actually hit kim or faith? you mean to tell me big and puff never had anything bad to say about pac and suge when all this beef was going on?

on side note, this movie didn't mention jay z did it? lol
