The Portuguese international collided with a wall on the A538 Wilmslow Road near Manchester Airport at 10.20am on Thursday as he drove from his Cheshire home to United's Carrington training base.

Ronaldo walked from the accident unscathed but his Ferrari 599 GTB, worth almost £200,000, was wrecked. The winger, who was being followed by team-mate Edwin van der Sar, was breathalysed and questioned by police at the scene. Ploice confirmed that the breath test proved negative.

He trained as usual after arriving at Carrington but only after being checked by United's doctors to make sure he was not suffering from shock.

He is likely to have to report to police to be questioned about the incident once Greater Manchester Police's collision reconstruction unit, dispatched almost immediately to the tunnel where the collision happened, have reported.

Although nobody else was involved in the crash, Ronaldo could still face reckless driving charges.

Greater Manchester Police's PC Nigel Snell confirmed that the world player of the year was fortunate not to have been seriously hurt. One witness has already spoken to police but they have issued an appeal to ask anyone who saw the accident to come forward.

He said: "Given the damage to the car, it is fortunate the driver was not injured. We are trying to establish what happened and I would appeal to anyone that might have seen the collision to contact police."

Glad he's ok and this has nothing to do with the thread but C.Ronaldo is one of the biggest bitches in professional football (football/soccer, whatever). I'll give him his due, he's very talented and if it wasn't for the bitch in him, who knows, he might have been able to be a legend one day.

Damn, the 599's are hard to get too. You usually have to pay $150-200K ABOVE sticker to get ahold of one.

I know this guys is a Euro soccer player. Supposed to be the new hearthrob a la Beckham, but I heard this motherfucker be party HARD as shit.

Hiring hookers to "service" people at his parties and shit.

Update:

Cristiano Ronaldo turns to Bentley after Ferrari crash

The luxury car has a wide appeal among top Premier League players with Chelsea's John Terry, West Ham's Craig Bellamy, Liverpool's Steven Gerrard and Tottenham's Germain Defoe among well known owners.

Only two cars, the BMW X5 and Range Rover Sport - both selling for less than half the cost of a Bentley - can be found in the garage of more top-flight footballers, according to a report published in March

Edwin van der Sar, the Manchester United goalkeeper, was driving his own Continental GT to training on the morning of Ronaldo's accident.

The 38-year-old Dutchman was reportedly behind Ronaldo on the A538 and as able to give him a lift following the crash of the £200,000 in a tunnel near Manchester airport.

Club manager, Alex Ferguson completes the Old Trafford Bentley contingent, according to The Times. Defenders Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra, midfielder Ryan Giggs and striker Wayne Rooney often park theirs at the club's training ground in Carrington, near Sale.

Ronaldo should not be overly concerned if anything should happen to his latest car of choice. Also in his garage are a Porsche, a BMW and a Rolls-Royce Phantom.

It is thought the player, who earns £120,000 a week at Manchester United, has spent £2million on cars since arriving at the club five years ago.

Real talk. If he would stop acting like shit is owed to him, he'd be up there wit Messi in my eyes. His talent goes without question, but you're right, he cries like it's nobody's business.
