~ Comics New releases ~

He is truly an ass. But the characterization in the Ultimates are probably some of the best I've ever read.

Hulk - cannibal, sex obsessed.

Cap. America - facist for democracy. Assertive asshole. And I still don't understand how/why he never jumps out of a plane with a chute.

Pym - bitch ass punk. Coward. Glory hound. His stint with the 'Defenders' was classic...

Thor - nutjob? Environmentalist/tree hugger.

Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver - incest twins (always knew they were too close). Also love Quicksilver and his "...if you'd only play back the recording of the battle in slow motion, you'd clearly see that I was..."

And EVERYONE worried about a payday or getting laid, or fame. (Except Cap).

Jarvis is a trip too...

Here I am begging again, fam. I wonder if anyone has that rare Trencher vs Supreme? Or any of the first run Supreme issues. Early image shit, they were pretty good.

Anybody got any of the artist Tim Vigil's work? He and David Quinn did FAUST some years back. Wonder what he's doin nowadays.

Ultimate X-Men is a superhero comic book series published by Marvel Comics since 2001. The series is a modernized re-imagining of Marvel's long-running X-Men comic book franchise as part of its Ultimate Marvel imprint. The Ultimate X-Men exist alongside other revamped Marvel characters in Ultimate Marvel titles including Ultimate Spider-Man, The Ultimate Fantastic Four, and The Ultimates.

The protagonists are the X-Men, a group of mutants whose unusual genetics grant them super powers. This sets them apart from the rest of humanity. They are led by Professor Charles Xavier, the world's most powerful telepath. Readers familiar with the original X-Men may recognize many familiar characters and storylines. However, Ultimate X-Men almost completely ignores supernatural or mystical elements as plot devices. The X-Men have no secret identities, and the mutants are mistrusted and hunted down.

The series began in 2001 under writer Mark Millar and artist Adam Kubert. As of May 2008, it is currently written by Aron Coleite and penciled by Mark Brooks. The February solicits indicate that the series will be cancelled after issue 100.

Damn that was unexpected. I hope they stay truer to the comic than Stallone's trainwreck. The only thing that was good about that movie was the set design. I hope they get a decent budget to fully flesh out Dredd's world called Mega City One.
