In light of the landslide victory of Obama, and basically what amounts to a national repudiation of the conservative agenda, what does it mean to be a Black conservative nowadays?

Honestly, to me, Black conservative just means: "I had a hard time growing up and being black, and I want to distance myself from niggas as much as possible".
Black conservatives are niggas who got a little wealth and felt that entitled them to rub elbows with the good white folks (who still see them as niggas)and adopt their bullshit principals of the "good ole boy network".

I think people are confusing social conservative sentiments for political conservatism.
They are reporting now that this Obama thing was bitter/sweet for them because he brought a lot of Blacks to the polls in Cali.
Sweet because Obama won....bitter because those same Blacks voted against gay marriage.
Now Gay marraige supporters are at the Morman temple protesting.
Judging by comments on this board concerning issues such as homosexuality, women, social issues, etc, the majority are staunch conservatives."black conservative" does not equate to "coon". Folks that throw that notion around have no idea what conservative ideology is.

Some elections are about Social issues, some are about the economy.
My mother told me her pastor, who doesn't believe Blacks should be 95% democrats, was trying to bring up Woe v Wade, Prayer in school, gay marraige and other social issues that Republicans usually support to sway a few to rethink their message.
It didn't work.
I honestly think Blacks should be independents and make all parties beg for our support.
Because, the true basis of American Conservatism is: Separation of wealth (wealth in the hands of a few with a larger gap between the have and have nots), and No government regulation (to continue dirty business with immunity). All the other bullshit they say they believe (pro life, anti-gun control, capitalism, etc) is just a smoke screen to get the vote of naive common people to continue to support and to practice of their core values which are get money at any cost and keep money at any cost! And those core values do not include black folks. No matter how hard you try, Conservative whites will never see themselves as equals with conservative blacks!
That would rule, but the Dems got most of us in the pocket. Hell, I returned to the Democratic Party because of Obama.
