I thought Sam Peter was the truth, Vitali whipped his azz.

Where are the black american heavyweights? :smh:

fuck are you talking about? Only the heavyweight division is dead. everything else is very competitive.

He said heavyweights...but,black fighters in general are disappearing.
How many divisions in boxing are we competitive in??...not many.

Chad Dawson is the IBF lightweight champ...Vernon Forrest has a middleweight belt,Paul Williams and Nate Campbell have belts...but who else???

Boxing is damn near dead to us...all those old Soviet bloc countries are taking over.

my .02 is that alot of the boxing programs in black communities are being cut out i know they stop funding the one in my area about 3 yrs ago

This is true. Bed Stuy Boxing Club was a long time fixture in my community. But the doors have been closed for quite some time. Since George Washington died, it has not gotten the funding to stay open, which is a damn shame because it kept SCORES of young black cats out of trouble.

Chad Dawson is a Lt. Heavyweight, not a Lightweight.

Steve Cunningham - IBF Cruiserweight champ
Verno Phillips - IBF Jr. Middleweight Champ
Tim Bradley - WBC Jr. Welterweight Champ
Kendall Holt - WBO Jr. Welterweight Champ

Funny but I just had this convo with to old school cats and the answer is that the best fighters are born from situations of hunger, poverty and lack of opportunity. Blacks Americans have graduated from that level.
