~ Comics New releases ~

Hmmm. As much as I like Catman and the secret six, there is NO-WAY he is the equal of Batman. Sorry but he's NOT.
If you read Brotherhood of the Fist, you'd know there a very few peeps as good as the Batman at Martial arts, even most of them agree that in drawn out fight they'd most likely lose or come to a draw.
I don't know man in recent years they've been elevating the skills of quite a few characters to Batman/shiva levels and I don't buy it.

anyway end of rant.lol
I remember a while back katz was claiming that years ago a bruh named the Bronze Tiger actually beat Batman..... Was this true and has that been retconned out and this Bronze Tiger guy still up in the 10 tier of martial arts masters in the DCU?

wikipedia said:
The Bronze Tiger possesses no metahuman powers, but is a superb martial artist. Many consider him one of the top 10 martial artists in the DC Universe, if not in the top 5. He has bested such great martial artists as Batman before. Turner defeated Batman in Detective Comics #485 (1979), a side result of which was the death of Kathy Kane. He would face Batman again shortly after. Even though Batman had taken every possible precaution for the rematch, neither fighter was able to gain an advantage, and the fight only ended when one of the League members shot Batman with a poisoned dart.
Nevermind; I found it. Since that happened pre-crisis, yeah it has; Batman is still one of the best.

I think everybody hatin on CRoSSED a little too hard. I thought it was trying too much to be over the top and the last page wasn't needed, but at the same time it's the first issue. I'll wait till about 5 before I have a definite conclusion, Sorry but I didn't feel the walking dead after one ish. I just stuck with it till about 3 or 4 because of the hype from the board and that turned out to be crack on paper!!

Oh and My Harddrive is clocking in at 125gb!!! of comics. Most from this thread and the rest from torrents. Soon as get more time I'll start shooting some series up

Of course "zombie" stories aren't original.

Walking Dead just stands out.

And we all know The Walking Dead ain't been shit since issue 48. That's not the point.

Crossed just fucking sucks.

The only reason I made the comparison is because the book read like a WD ripoff.

Hell one of the characters looks like Rick.

Crossed was juvenile as fuck, and the drawing sucked...

Everything you said. As an artist and writer myself. You can kinda tell when someone is just riding someone elses "coat tails".

They produced this work in order to capitalize on the "new cool" which is a dystopian world with horrifying events. The creator is simply trying to grab attention by being over the top with his!

Oh and I think the work sucks....come on man...dude being raped at the end with his bowels in another persons hands...? whack.

1] i thought Kirkman wa snot going to reveal how people were turning in to zombies or he didn't have an idea.
2]Come on yall:cool: know how WD works, first get the characters together, then develop them and when you lease except it, he kills them:eek:
3] I really don't want to download cross but what so good about it. why is it being compared to WD, do they develop the character like WD or is the art better then WD or something:confused:

You think "Crossed" is over the top & WD isn't?? So seeing Tyrese getting decapitated with a sword isn't over the top? Watching Michonne get raped isn't over the top? Let's face it the reason we check out WD is to see what over the top shit happens next.

Man, I'm waitin' for that JLA issue where the boys from Milestone make a comeback. It's supposed to be out in this month right?

You never see Michonne get raped, it's just an established point.

And I use to check out the Walking Dead to see how the characters were gonna do because I eventually became interested and concerned about them.

That's why I got turned off after issue 48 because everybody is dead (I'm still pissed about Lori and the baby, Tyreese:angry:) and now the storyline is just dragging along.

But lets take away the gay rape and and bad drawing and Crossed still fucking sucks.

But I'm done.

Enjoy Crossed issue 2.

Cause I ain't reading that shit:lol:

Ain't that right CP?

good point. But lets just say the presentation is way better.

:smh: at the end
 at the rant and cussing that the wife said to ole nerd dude and his fraud salt trick

mofo thinking salt would kill them..guess he really was a "stupid cocksucking cunt motherfuckeretc.."

knowing how garth writes there probably wont be a single person left alive at the end of the book(is this a miniseries, limited run,or ongoing..? )

I gotta say...
even though there is extreme violence in WD...it is within context and does not feel gratuitous..
Crossed does seem to be strictly going for shock value..and i'll stay on board for a few issues to see if it is actually any good...

Like I said "Crossed" may suck in the end but I'm giving the author a few more issues before I make that judgement.

Garth Ennis is a sick dude
on Punisher and Preacher he got away with stuff but still had people looking over his shoulder and making little changes
Crossed is independent book
there's no one looking over your shoulders and telling you what to do or not
anyone will come up with some twisted shit to see how far they can go

and calling Crossed a rip-off of WD is like calling the latest alien invasion movie a rip-off from the previous one :hmm:
it's been done to death it is difficult to approach it with something new :dunno:

that last panel of the Joker is one of the nicest drawings i've seen.

it's dramtic, powerful, the inks are perfect, and the color sets it off.

This here is gonna be hot!!

Brian Azzarello takes on the Joker!!!! :D:D:D:D

I love Lee Bermejo.

supes-gen13_1.jpg

His "SUPERMAN/GEN 13 book was one of the BEST crossovers of the 90s.
He's got a '30s/40s art deco look to his work.

Though it looks like he's going for a more darker look with this Joker story.

I don't even read DC like that but that Joker intro was damn near perfect. Me thinks it might be the shit:yes:

Anyone has the comic when wolvering sliced the thing from the fantastic four in the face and the thing had to be wearing a face mask and had to keep wearing the mask because the wound would not heal

When is it droppin'?!

"In October, DC Comics will be releasing Joker, a 128 page hardcover original graphic novel which reunites Brian Azzarello with Lee Bermejo—the team behind Lex Luthor: Man of Steel. This new tale promises to show a darker, more disturbing side to Gotham City’s most notorious villain as he escapes from Arkham Asylum to find that his vast criminal holdings have been split up amongst a number of other notoriously noteworthy villains: The Penguin, The Riddler, and Two Face. With all these villains around—can Batman be far behind?"

Crossed was Okay But im definitely thinking of it as more of a WD rip off, Kinda like those old rambo Rip Offs back in the day.

The Zombie thing is becoming the next big monster movie.. Book, Etc.

The Culmination will be World War Z. I can see it becoming a movie, then branching off into a comic. cuz that book is the SHIT!.

The movie rights have already been snatched up. That shit or WD would make a GREAT movie. They could easily tie WD into World War Z.

Just change the narrative.
