Seriously, for the OP, I'm working through the same thing now, and really, if you just approach a woman with some semblance of common sense and no corny ass pickup lines, something will stick eventually. Just don't waste too much time approaching a woman you like, shit can change in a day or less.
I used to have this problem myself. I used to think I didn't have the funds...I didn't have a nice enough car...I wasn't super buff enough etc..etc..
I learned that I was placing women in too high of a pedestal. I realized I was not giving women the chance to prove that they are worth my attention and time. for example, i'd see a woman someplace (i.e. mall ...club...supermarket) and immediately think that since she was good looking and attractive, that she'd have a bunch of other great qualities. I was sooooooo wrong!!!
Keep this in mind...
Next time you see a woman you're interested in just approach her. say hello, ask her name tell her yours...never call a woman you don't know "baby"...or honey. upon first introductions keep a social distance, and if she's interested she will close the gap. Truth be told women enjoy closing interpersonal social gaps, and doing the work to learn more about a particular man. The trick is to keep a distance, but not too much distance.
If you're really anxious just go an start of conversations with random women one you're not attracted to and ones you're attracted to. talk about the weather, or if the bus is coming. for me it started with striking up conversations with old women waiting for the train. A newspaper usually helps. Especially now everyone has an opinion. Especially women. If you're in a club ask a woman about something she has on...( shoes and accessories work best).

I wouldn't say that I'm afraid of approaching women, however, I am very cautious though. I peep everything about a woman, from her eyes, to her thighs. A woman with sexy eyes will get my attention 90 percent of the time. One thing I've found out is what I called the Ipod trick.

Secondly, the fact that it seems that you aren't paying any attention to the good looking women, that will intrigue them enough to pay attention to you. Then, you get comments like "what are you listening too" blah blah blah. I've got numbers out the wazoo from not paying too much attention to females, and being me. Another thing, depends on what song you have on, it could give you an extra boost in confidence if you actually wanted to talk to someone.

Thanks for the advice guys, even the funny ones lol I appreciate the help. I just never was able to go up to a stranger and talk to them, its like I feel out of place, I feel like I'm bothering them..Most importantly I don't know what to say!

I think the majority of folks have that fear... shit i know I did then I started looking at that shit like a fucking baseball batting average... shit If I can bat 400 I don't give a fuck... when I was out there I cared little about the six I wasted time on and love being in them 4 that I did catch.... feel me...
Just be yourself. Don't worry about approaching women at all. Instead focus on interacting with women. Find a commonality and speak to that, be it politics or music. Whatever. Most importantly, don't build up the process too much. Don't take it too seriously, have fun with it. Women appreciate and will respond to genuine interest.

The other day, I saw a nice looking young man at work waiting for the elevator. I went to wait for the elevator too and said "Hi, how are you?" This fool says "Ay, wasshahnninwicha".
