This man is truly a wrestling legend. One of the best performers I have ever seen. Steamboat vs. Savage at Wrestlemania III is one of the top five greatest wrestling matches. His matches with the Nature Boy were classics too....

He was well-known among wrestling fans as being one of the few wrestlers who stayed a babyface throughout the expanse of a long career. He is best known for his work with American Wrestling Association, National Wrestling Alliance, World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Federation.

In WWF, Steamboat was a 1 time Intercontinental Champion. In NWA/WCW, he was a 1 time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, 4 time United States Heavyweight Champion, 4 time Television Champion, 8 time WCW World Tag Team Champion, 1 time (unofficial) NWA World Tag Team Champion 2 time Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion, and a 3 time Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champion.

i enjoyed his matches alot especially in his nwa/wcw days..he is a true great...the only knock against him was having a signature finisher although that double chicken wing he used was bad ass but most of them time it was the bodypress or some sort of cradle he used to finish his matches which i used to hate alot

He and Ric Flair wrestled what was considered the perfect wrestling match, and their series of matches should be the blueprint of what wrestling should be.

Also check his matches in WCW with "Stunning" Steve Austin for the T.V. Title.

Then Macho went to the back to do the interview and was bragging about how he fucked up the Dragon.... Then Bruno Samartono called Savage a "SonovaBitch" dropped the Mic and started choking that nigga...

He had technically excellent matches, but they told stories and didn't look like two niggas doing moves. And the out of ring stuff ADDED to the match. This led to a tag team cage match between Bruno/Tito Santana and Adrian Adonis/Savage in Madison Square Garden that involved Bruno beating the shit out of Savage.

Steamboat was a beast. I grew up watching awa and nwa wrestling.
I saw Ricky Steamboat vs. Ric Flair at a Rec Center where i grew up..
When Ric Flair won my older cousin cried.....
I will never forget that, lol....
Every since then i was a Steamboat fan....

Them tidbits bring back memories of the early days of the internet and pro wrestling. IMO pro wrestling died with ECW and WCW. Since Vince has a grip on the business hopefully TNA or ROH will challenge him one day.
