Off Sheer Enjoyment Throughout Im Rollin Wit Snoop. No Doubt Both Classics And Mainstays In Any Music Collection. To Me Theyre Both Classics For Many Different Reasons, So They Shouldnt Be Compared. But If Must Choose, Imma Roll Wit Snoop, More Bounce.

Tuff One Homie...being That Im From The West Coast(l.a.) You Know I Gotta Go Wit Snoopy D.o. Dub...but That Ready To Die Was My Shit..for Real...both Of Those Shitz Were Way..i'm Mean Way Ahead Of Their Time...lets Not Forget Death Row Had It Craccin/poppin..at That Time...i Gotta Go With Snoop...but B.i.g...was Also In The G.a.m.e...fa Sho...peace!..

EVERYBODY IN THA HOOD WAS BUMBIN DOGGYSTYLE...NIGGAZ WAS ROLLIN DOWN THE STREET IN THEY CUTLASS BANGIN SNOOP BACC IN NINE TRIZZLE...THOSE WERE THE DAYZ MAYNE...DAMN...

Damn, that is tough. My gut reaction is to just say Ready to Die, but for as much as I love that album, song for song I think Doggystyle might take it.

Fuck it, gut reaction is going to win out on this one and I'll go with Biggie. Still two certified, 5-mic, classics here.

win, win. cant go wrong either way. it jus depend on the mood. Ready to Die was a lil more grittier than Doggystyle imo.

yeah I can't decide neither.... shit this is a flip of the coin. they both is my shit!

Ready to Die was a decent intro for a guy nobody knew anything about, but listening to it now it is trash. Hot trash. Too rough and vulgar and needless swearing and I was in the Navy for Christ's sake. Life After Death was a classic joint. From start to finish there was only a track or two of filler material and it was a double LP. He matured BIG TIME, but unfortunately it was his last.

Doggystyle gets airplay in my car more than any of Snoop's LPs since. His maturation changed his music for the worst. I don't know what he was trying to be but he wasn't it. Biggie's #2 vs. Snoop's #1? Now THAT is a tough call.

BTW, I can't believe how you can post this without G'z up hoes down

co-sign............

Doggystyle wins on this one

Ready to Die. When they took Gz up goes down of the album the album lost some luster.

Plus B I G painted imagerys in my head with lyrics that have lasted a lifetime.

The cut. Unbelievable is one of the greatest hiphop creations ever.......

Doggystyle wins.
Ready to Die isn't cohesive.
The first tracks sound like they are from a different era than the later ones.

Because I like the gritty sound of Ready to Die and the razor sharp rhymes I gotta take that one but I had Doggystyle first and that was my shit too. The decision is not an easy one to make by any stretch tho

:hmm:

"Biggie Smalls is the illest"

Extremely tough. As an overall listen, since I can quote every line on Doggystyle (and I own the original CD with Gz Up Hoez Down) I'm going to roll with that one. But both are classics and must owns (and 5 stars to boot).

We pit the greatest Hip-Hop albums of all-time weekly at work.
Some of the old matchups with outcomes are as follows:

ATLiens vs. Extinction Level Event/ 8-6 / Dec. Atliens
Ready To Die vs. Illmatic/ TKO 8th round / Ready To Die
Only Built For Cuban Links vs. Yeeah Baby / 11-8 /Dec. Only Built

The one we got coming up this week is a Head to Head BCC massive showdown!!! Da Shinin' vs. Nocturnal

Shit is mad fun and it makes the day go by mad fast! The best part of it is the white boy who sits next to me weighs in and has no idea what he's talking about, but it's cool though because that's the unknown factored in, sort of like, "what do white people like about these albums?":lol::lol:

Ready to Die vs. Doggy Style...... without putting them through our head to head system I'm gonna go with Ready To Die. It had waaaay more of an impact on the game than Snoop's album and lyrically, Snoop will never ever see Biggie.

I have to go with Ready to Die. Maybe my favorite hip-hop album of all time. Perfect album and Doggystyle is just as good. It was hard but Biggie's lyrics gave him the edge

I agree. I have both albums and I haven't played Biggie in about 6 years. You put both albums out today and Doggystyle would outsell Ready to Die easily. Nice album when it came out, but now, I don't think so

depends what ya flava was at the time the joints came out i roll with ready to die all day i remember first time i heard it i was like dam this joint is banging pumped it over and over even though snoop's joint was banging also i didnt have that same feeling like i did with biggie

Nothing really sells well nowadays (except for lots of garbage, and that rare occasion when a quality album actually sells well). So I assume we're talking about quality. Well, in that case, Ready to Die shits on practically anything that has come out these days, so I don't really see your point.

It was ill the 90s (when numerous classics dropped), and it would be ill if it dropped now (when numerous garbage albums are dropping).
