Anybody ever bought a car off of ebay

I'm looking at a couple of Toyota Avalons in a few different states on Ebay, but am not sure about how it works, especially with something as significant as a car. The starting bids are low as hell for the true values of the car. I just don't want to get my hopes up and the car ends up at the same price as my local dealers have, or I when a bid at a good price and the buyer just pulls out.

What are your experiences.

Thanks.

Copped my shit off ebay, it was a legitimate dealership behind the listing so it was a pretty straight forward transaction. Beat the closest competitor at the time by like 4 stacks on the price too.

i bought 1 car & 2 bikes off ebay. best if you can go get car urself & check it out. i picked up all myself. uhaul rent trailers. if not there are places that you can pay & they will go inspect the car for you to make sure you not getting a lump of coal. & pay with paypal or credit card if u cant go get urself so if its not what it was suppose to be you can get ur money back. good luck.

That's whats up. How far away was it and did? Did you go see it or did you have it inspected? Pick up or shipped?

The cars I'm looking at are in New York and DC and I'm in Detroit, so I'm really not trying to make the trip out there. I'm getting financed through my lender, so I don't know how it would work.

I bought a 2004 Avalon from a local Ford dealership from ebay but I got to test drive it first. First thing the pic they had of the car was photoshopped when I got there the hood and front finders looked like a million golf balls had hit them they said a heal storm had just pasted by lie #1 I've lived in Florida all my live and know for a fact that we never have heal that big or dangers down here then I asked why the price of the car was so low sales person said because they had to move inventory lie #2 then I asked about the cars history and he said the car was a local car from Florida lie #3 so I get the vin number and get one of my friends to car fax the car and it turns out the car was from Atlanta and it was in a heal storm and was sold to the dealership at a insurance auction so I go to the dealer with my info and got them to fix the damages for free all totaled I got the car for around $6230 back in 2006. So if you can't test drive a car you want to buy online than don't think about buying it:D

I found a car on ebay. Went to the dealership to see it. Made an offer after driving the car forcing them to end the auction.

I wouldn't buy a car site unseen.

It was in Jerz not far from where I grew up (I live in FL now). I had my brother go inspect it and he green-lighted it.

Since it was at the crib I just got a one way ticket home to pick it up and drove it back.

Check the lemon laws in the state where you are planning to purchase just in case anything goes wrong. Most legitimate places will offer to have it shipped to you and have that factored into the price.

If you can make the trip to get it I'd suggest that so you can inspect it first hand.

I get a ton of stuff off of ebay. It's a great fucking site.YOu just got to find the right deal.I never bought a car off of it though, but I did buy one off of craiglist and I got one hell of a deal too.:yes:

I've bought a motorcycle, yes.

But I think a car is a bit much to buy without test driving and getting it checked out by a mechanic

This dude at my job has bought 3 cars off ebay. In fact, he just came back from Texas where he picked up on this week end.
He says he hasn't had any problems.
I don't know if I could take that risk.
