Ladies how much do you spend on your beauty and maintenance regimen?

I was getting my nails done today and adding up the numbers and my beauty bill is pretty high.

What do you cut corners on and what regimen can you absolutely not live without?

I try to get my nails done bi-weekly but sometimes I will slack but the toes got to be done.

Even wearing my hair natural it costs 25 bucks to get it braided up. If I'm wearing a weave the cost of the hair and the process could be about 400-500 bucks. If I'm just wigging it about 60 bucks.

Lotions, oils, hair conditioners and shampoos, body scrubs, makeup, hair accessories, can add up too.

Do you ladies wear costume jewelry or fine jewelry if you wear it at all?

I don't get my nails or toes down professionally; I just do them myself. So, no money really lost there...

When I'm working full-time during most of the year, I typically go every three weeks to get hair done...this can add up, as it's $35 for a wash and style, $65 for a relaxer. Over the summer, I'm mostly doing wet sets, so I'll probably only get my hair done once a month.

I have to use Aveeno products when it comes to washing my body, but I use Johnson and Johnson Creamy Baby Oil as a lotion. I have some NARS for face wash and moisturizer. The NARS products are hella expensive (think it cost $75 for both), but a little goes a long way, and I love the glow it gives me.

In terms of jewelry, I have my staples (diamond studs, Anne Klein watch, and silver chain with small pendant), but I also switch it up with costume jewelry, like long pendant necklaces, chunky bracelets, etc. I spend enough on those so they won't look fake, but not too much, as they are usually trendy pieces.

Not too much any more. I used to spend $45 a month to get my hair pressed. And I only kept it a week before I had to wash my hair again. Haven't been to a beauty salon since NYE. I get massages *no happy ending* about once every couple of months. That's about $75-$100 each time. I stock up on stuff twice a year at the Bath & Body works biannual sales. That's about it. I wear fine & costume jewelry at the same time

I really have to budget this, or I can easily go out of control.
I do my own manicure/pedicures, which saves a lot of money over time.
Also, I buy in bulk my beauty products (soaps, lotions, etc), or get the generic kind from this great beauty supply I found. Sometimes ebay has some great items, and I've saved a lot of money by looking for things on there.
However, I won't cut corners on getting my eyebrows waxed/threaded and a Brazilian wax every 5 weeks. Those are necessities.

Lately, I've been doing my own nails, clip, file, polish.. Toes I do myself in the winter, must get a pedicure in the summer since I can paint those kinda crooked, lol....

Face wash... I used to use Clinque, but I recently went back to St. Ides apricot scrub, and I use an astringent with some regular cocoa butter fragrance free lotion ... baby oil gel or shea butter on my legs... Body wash, I have lots, but its usually dove or some victoria secret stuff or Bath and body works... I'm pretty low-key. i use Irish spring soap...

My hair is natural, in the winter I get a doobie wrap every 2 weeks and thats only 23 each time including a deep condition and blowout, during the summer I just wash and go since its naturally curly and I almost alwys catch my products on sale. I just got some John Freida Frizz-ease stuff on sale buy 1 get one freee, same thing last month with sunsilk products... I also use Beyond teh Zone products called Noodle Head which i get on sale at teh Sally Beauty Supply...

I was in the beauty supply store today and spent alot, because I was low on Razors and i bought some white-strips.. I was thinking of getting like one of the Norelco razor type things for women, so I can stop giving Gilette all my money for this damn Venus razor... anyone have one of those kinda rechargeable razor thingys???

I do my own nails, my own toes, so I'm good on that aspect. I bought a PedEgg for my feet, I have a footspa and all types of mani pedi shit. I would say that costs about $150 all together and then the usual, nail polish and stuff so I would add like $20 a month, if that.

I'm obsessed with bath stuff so that alone can cost me... about $30 a month on some new VS scent or some other stuff. I have a big collection of bath and body stuff. I only use noxema on my face, since I have pretty much clear skin all year round so it doesn't take much. I do use 100% Shea Butter and I use a Multivitamin soap for washing my face.

Hair....I'm a wiggy girl most of the time....love them, don't hate, don't talk shit, I do wear my hair but I'm trying to stop chemicals from going in my hair so I'm letting it grow b/c I want to go natural. I buy a new wig each month maybe, so thats $30-60 for new hair. Collection is getting up there too.

Uhh thats all I can think of.

I get a pedi and mani every 2 weeks 85.00

I keep my hair in micro's-thats 180.00 every 3 or 4 months
Sometimes when I am giving my hair a break I wear a half wig-45.00

I only wear IMAN/MAC or Black Opal make up-Normally buy it off of ebay by the lot-between 10.00-80.00 every 3 or 4 months

I buy clothes every 2 weeks......I wont say how much I spend:hmm:

I love sugar scrubs, perfumes and lotions-I spend about 100.00 every 2 months...No more than that!

That's about it:D

Eyelash extensions are 50 a month. But the initial is 100-150. Although I am considering going to the one the stars go to for 600. Just to see if there is a difference, not regularly.

Nails and toes are about 120 a month.

Weave is about 500 for 3 months to include hair and application.

Hair care products cost me about 50 bucks because I can't find them locally and order them online.

In between time braids and wigs could be about 75 for that month I take a breather.

Makeup, lotions, body washes and scrubs, facial skin care generally lasts me about 3 months but I probably spend about 150 when I need to replenish product.

My fragrance I replace monthly and that's 65 bucks.

Now I used to get laser hair removal treatments for 150 a month but I can't afford that now. If I could, I'd get my entire body done and that would be about 300 a month.

If I could get a massage, extraction and facial weekly, I would. But I don't. Maybe one day.

I don't spend money on dry cleaning. I really don't shop much but I do like to buy shoes. Generally a pair is about 100 bucks.

I keep jewely simple but I do love jewelry. One chain and pendant, one ring on each finger, classic large hoop earrings and one chain bracelet and one bangle bracelt on each arm.

And that is about it.

Wow.

I have never been a girly girl but A LOT of what I just read reads like Cyrillic Russian right about now. If I can't do it or moms, (the best hair braider I know), it doesn't get done. All I really need is an extra big jar of Palmers Cocoa Butter and I'm good to go.

Kinda always wished I could get girlified but I guess after watching the people around me it turned me off.

Some of that stuff is every few months, so that's not that much when you break it down. But think about how much you could be saving if you could just cut back 10-20%.

And laser hair removal should only take a few treatments, correct? The point of it is to be permanent, so that cost isn't really a monthly thing right?

I work in IT. I never really thought I was high maintenance because I see women spending way more than I do on more things.

But I guess that is why sometimes my mom will reference other women and say "well she's not like you, she's simple".

But keep in mind, I dont always keep up with the regimen. I can go a month and not get my nails done. I can go a month and not do my hair, so I'll rock a headwrap. I guess that is where I cut corners.

I also don't have the same expenses because I don't have a land line. I only just recently got cable because I have a new tenant who wants it. And I don't have kids.

Mine is pretty cheap. I do my nails and hair myself so its just really nailpolish and loc gel and some oil or grease along with basic supplies like lotion etc. Very rarely I treat myself to a wash/twist/style which runs around 60 or 70. Thats it.

things i splurge:

hair: i get it done professional bi weekly at $50...i get a perm every 7 months at $80...and a color every 5 weeks $50.......although i get it professionally done i still will wash it on my off week...so i MUST use a linapro iron (one time buy of $170..same technology chi but differnt maker.)...and all keracare products (not too expensive...only $8 for shampoo and conditioner...but the essentail oils for the hair is expensifve ($20) and i go thru that once every other month)

makeup: i love it and i like to update it...so ill end up spending about $200 every six months...i love mac...urban decay...2faced....chanel...vikky's secrect just name a few

mouisturizers: i use "hope in a jar" by philopshy ($50 a 2oz jar)...and carol's daugther ($40 for a jar)

clothes: i used to spend $500 a month...but i have chilled out...im at about $100 now

shoes: omg i love shoes...and when they have it in my size u better believe in getting one in every color...it all depends if i find some...but ive been known to buy a couple pairs of shoes that cost over $100 each

purses: i try to get a new one each year....my one for this year was a gucci...it retailed at $1200...but i only paid $400 (i got a friend who works in industry....very nice hookup)

everything else im not to picky where i get it

Philosophy products are the bomb, but $50 for a 2 oz. jar doesn't sound right...it's like $25-30 each at Sephora for a larger bottle.

I spend $40 a month on hair, $20 a month on products & accessories. $25 a month on mani/pedi in the spring/summer, $10 in the fall/winter for maintenance products. Every three months I drop $75 for a facial (I have a great hookup, love my friends). I get massages for $20 at my gym or free from my friend studying to become a masseuse. Clothing is about $100 a month, and shoes are the same, but I've been known to drop $200+ on a fly pair of heels or kicks.

Hmmm, let's see! I send a total of $90 on my hair alone every 2 weeks. Then I get a pedi/mani which is $25 (every other weekend), then eyebrows are $8. I get a bikini wax every 20 days in the summer so that's an additional $50.

I don't use many hair products once my hair is done. I spray glycerin and water mix or some surge and I'm done. I go to aboutfaces every other month for a $50 dollar massage.

I honestly don't think I spend much but I use natural shampoos and conditioners which are kinda pricey. I don't wear make-up like foundations, blush etc. but I love MAC lipglass and earth tone eye shadows so they can be a little expensive...

I'm going on vacation soon for a while so I'm getting a sew-in with indian wavy hair so I don't have to deal with my natural hair. The hair alone cost me $165.00 but it will last me for a year or more...

I sometimes think I could spend less but I love to pamper myself and I really don't have to time to sit and do it myself....

Girl where do you get surge? I have to get it off of E bay cuz I can't find it locally.

can you explain a lil more about buying the make up on ebay if you dont mind.... my girl frequents the mac counter and they are brutal when they add it all up....:smh:

femme: ..I heard they are still selling them down south [NC, GA area]. Those are left overs from when they discontinued it. I didnt seen any there the last time I went to GA though..just what I've read on the hair boards.

I do my own mani/pedi every week..sometimes Ill go and get them done at a salon.

I do my own hair..havent been to a stylist in years. Since I am obsessed with hair care, doing my own hair isnt a problem..its a hobby of mine. I dont get relaxers. Right now Im in braids and I did them myself. I use giovanni, aubrey organics, and j/a/s/o/n/s naturals for conditioners and shampoos. I use natural butters and oils. I try to spend as little money on hair stuff as I can..Once in a while I'll splurge [CHI, aveda]. I buy a lot of hair sticks, scarves, and headbands..hair accessories are my weakness.

Skin regimen.. I use a lot of kitchen products. Baking soda to wash my face..honey and olive oil for moisture, acv and tea as a toner. and do OCM. Oil pulling also helps not worry so much about my skin. As far as lotions go..I use coconut oil & shea butter. Use black soap to wash. I make my own body scrubs. I like to buy things from the body shop though..I def, splurge there. I dont buy too much makeup. I use urban decay for eye make up [liner and shadow] and co bigelow apothecaries lip gloss. Those are my staples so I dont really try new brands.

I buy jewelry from forever21 or from local shops in the area. Clothing.. THAT is a problem. I buy way too many clothes. :smh: I really dont know why. Im a broke as a joke student. For everything else though..I dont spend too much.
