This can't be a serious thread for the simple fact that this comparison isn't even valid. THINK ABOUT THIS: Jordan and Pippen were MAINSTAYS and thats really all it took (in one of the NBA's most competitive and physical decades) to win six championships together. Bryant and Odom arent a threat and therefore had to get Pau Gasol (Bulls never had a big man that good) just to compete in the WEST.... not to mention that Bynum is young and coming into his own and will be a force in his own right (Bulls never had a big man that good either). The best big man the Bulls ever had was Rodman who was only 6'8 and he was only around for the last 3 championships.

Bryant and Odom as a duo have done what exactly in recent years?!!? So come on..... ask a real question and you'll get a real answer.

If you're saying who would win a game of 2on2 in their primes Kobe and Lamar would win, Pippen would get posted up all day by Odom's length and Kobe would shoot in MJ's face he's a better shooter from outside than MJ was. He's made over 400 more 3's than MJ has at the same point of their careers.

Now as for who are the better combo in the NBA wise its MJ/Pippen simply because they were dominant superstars.

Now for the person who said MJ played against great players you might wanna rethink that thought process.

MJ schooled these unathletic shooting guards, Ehlo, Hornacek, smaller guards Starks and Dumars, and less athletic wings like Marjele Danny Ainge and Dennis Johnson. Kobe would have scored 63 on that Celtics team with Ainge and DJ guarding him as well.

Kobe would have killed them easy no problem especially with no zone defenses and the ability to straight up one side of the floor Iso with no help.

Now again Kobe scored 33 on MJ when MJ was in his prime winning titles back in 97 as an 18 year old how the fuck would MJ hold an in his prime know the game Kobe.

MJ and Kobe would score on each other all day long MJ would not stop Kobe thats a joke. Kobe wouldn'tstop him either as evidenced by MJ's 36.

MJ himself said after that game said Kobe offered me the same problems I offer other players.

MJ is better than Kobe is overall but not by that much when you consider era and rule changes.

I'm in my 30's I've seen them all and Kobe and MJ are close in talent with MJ being alittle more explosive and having a quicker 1st step.

I can't front. I think Kobe is overrated.

• Kobe can't drive around Paul Pierce - slow footspeed
• Kobe is a streaky shooter - Jordan by this age was a deadly and consistent shooter from the outside
• Kobe thinks he's better than he is - so he tries to turn it on and off but can't.
• Kobe is no longer explosive - he's not getting around anybody
• kobe is no longer explosive.

This whole series exposed Kobe to me as someone who's lost some footspeed. he doesn't have the first step to get around niggas. my complaint about paul pierce is his conditioning - he could stand to lose like 20 lbs - it would make him a better player - especially around the basket. but kobe couldn't drive by pierce in iso situations. wow. pierce is not quick. at all.

Your robin is only as good as your batman and Odom needs Kobe to be on to make the defense honest. honestly, Odom has such a crazy skillset - his height with his handle and footspeed, plus being a lefty? his only weakness is outside shooting. the sidekick is only as good as the boss. and Kobe at this stage in his career is really far from jordan in his career. which is to say that kobe is not an assassin. he also is not the athlete that jordan was at the same stage.
