Black couple adopts white baby

So what are your opinions on this?
Does it matter that the baby is white?
Many are of the opinion that it is hard to get black babies adopted, and that this is kind of a slap in the face.
Also, are they setting their white child up for identity issues in adulthood?
I love babies so I think a parent who can give a baby the love and care it deserves, should do so without being questioned and race shouldn't be an issue.

When it comes to adoption it has to be a right fit, and if they felt that this baby is right for them then so be it.
On the flipside, Black children are less likely to be adopted than a white child.

This could be an issue for many people...not for me. I'm gonna give a standard answer, for things like this....I DON'T CARE. I don't know them, their family, their values, etc..so, whereas this may not be something that I-I-I-I would do, I don't wanna speak for what's best for the next man.
When it comes to babies, race and class do not matter. All that matters is that they love this baby with all they have in them. If they do that, all else is bullshit.
I'm surprised big brother actually let this happen. Good for them, I hope the baby grows up well. Times are changing....slowly.

Does the article say the baby is actually "white" (or does she just look light at the moment)?

personally what i would get out of it was the husbands parents told him he better not have any chocalate babies......
I'm curious as to the frame of mind you would have to be in for it not to be an issue.Personally I'd only adopt a black child, but to each his own!!!
Did anybody actually take the time to read the story attached to the pictures? This couple had been trying to conceive their own child and, after three miscarriages, the couple were confronted with a family friend telling them that a child was soon to be born that was being put up for adoption. I don't think this couple thought about race or any other issue besides nurturing and caring for a child they wanted - and tried to have - for so long. It's not like they INTENTIONALLY sought a white child, and were trying to shun black babies or something. From my perspective, it seems like they felt this was "their child," especially considering the circumstances surrounding the adoption...

My husband was the flip of this-White family adopted a biracial/black child(puerto rican and black. There a wonderful family-but there were issues. Identity, belonging, racial...You name it. Struggles...
But-they loved him none the less.

White/black does it really matter? It is a freaking baby that is going to need love and care to become a productive member of this society. To many times we concern ourselves with the things that are not really that important. The white dude that was recently in the news for being tops at Moorehouse was taken in by a black family after his white family became abusive. As soon at the story hit hte bgol masses everyone started screaming outrage.

All the Black babies in the country. For those of you who say, "Well at least they got A baby, race doesn't matter." IDEALLY, I agree, but America ain't FUCKIN ideal. Black kids damn sure don't get a fair shake and you can double down on that if they in the system. Just SMH.
