If the engine RPMs were racing, but the car wasn't accelerating - it sounds to me as if something in your transmission (torque converter, driveshaft coupler, etc. ) if not your whole transmission is toast. It could be that your computer is acting stupid as well being that trannies are computerized now.

Either way, get ready for a bill in excess of $700 ($100 diagnostic - $300 labor - $300 in parts mininum) unless you do your own work.

What kind of vehicle is it?

Sounds like something within the transmission or you might want to check your sensors also. Like partner said above be prepared to spend some money.

i had the transmission fluid changed recently..probably a month ago..thats the thing..i take care of it..its up to date on maintainence other than a tune up at months end...im prepared to pay a grip..:smh:

Why would you need to change the tranny fluid? These new cars have sealed transmissions, and under normal driving conditions, the fluid doesn't need to be changed for basically they life of the car.

Definitely not in the time frame you've owned the car.

I suspect your issues have something to do with this. Tranny's, especially when you flush the fluid and don't swap the screen have a lot of issue afterwards with knocking metal shards and shavings around ... they get caught in the tiny passages the fluid travels and in the works inside and gum up the works.

First, I'd go back to where you had the fluid changed and tell them you're suddenly having trans problems after the fluid change.

Second, I'd take it to and indedpent repair shop and tell them to check the computer for error codes. Tell them the tranny isn't shifting correctly. Staying in a higher gear too long (which would explain the acceleration problems).

fuck big ten tires....son of a bitch misled me.....its going to an independent right now...waiting on tha tow trick

the same kinda thing happened to my Acura Legend...except it wouldnt accelerate unless i was goin downhill. found out my transmission was slowly deteriorating.

It's a Chevy and you are in the south, $500.00 to 800.00 for a regular rebuilt transmission. If you're prone to hard acceleration and lots of stop and go traffic, put money away for another one soon. IF you really want to get out of the problems with transmission, buy a Manual trans car. Changing the clutch is about the only major thing you have to do. The only thing I would drive in automatic is Full size luxury cars(domestic or foreign) and family vans/cargo vans, but that's just me.

Hit me on the PM I got a mechanic in Marietta near the Jim Ellis VW dealer. I just got Brakes done on a Mercedes $500 quote from the dealer. $250 parts & labor got me out the door with this guy. Ex VW/Audi & Mercedes Benz Tech.

If you can't pay attention and listen to your patient during a diagnosis, how are you going to be a competent doctor. You know "mummy" won't be there to hold your hands.

Man don't waste your time with that cracka.

Heist is right newer cars come with sealed transmissions so the next flush would be at 100k.

I have an 03 G35 Sedan and I just changed my transmission fluid at 86k for the first time. However I took it to the dealer and used the dealer authorized fluid. Sometimes ninjas use some bullshit not recommended by the manufacturer and end up fucking up their transmissions.

Here is the answer being that I am a tech at chevy. Whats happening to your car is the trans computer and what will happen now is that all the other modules will go bad because with these cars the monte, malibu, and impala it is a common problem . heres what you need to do , dependeing on the year and miliage take it to chevy the warranty is 30,000 miles or three years which ever ocurrs firt bumper to bumper. take it in and let them check for any DTC's (trouble codes). What you have is what we call an intermitted issue whaich has become your main complaint.
Yur options are if it is a fact defect then you have nothing to worry about ,if it is out of warranty than get an extended warranty with GMPP or one of the=ose companies and then take it to them. If anything pm me if you have anymore questions!

i don't know if your car has this, but in a benz i had something similar was happening and it turned out to be the air flow meter.

wxactly what it was....

Intake Nozzle Had a Crack And a Few Holes In It:smh:

500 Dollars To Repair....
