I saw this. The heels are pretty big for her, so it reminds me of playing dress up in her mom's shoes and jewelry. I had my first pair of heels at 8 and I haven't looked back since.

The actual clothes are pretty cute. Maybe too dressy for school. I really don't see it as any different than some of those Barbie commercials growing up. And yall better not say anything bad about Barbie :hmm:

Yeah the dolls were flashy and wore makeup. Not the girls in the commercials. That still gives a distinction to little girls that this is "grown folk" business.

But not these Dereon ads. Hell they look like mini grown folk.

I don't think those heels are appropriate for children:smh:I don't much care for the outfits either cuz they look too adult:smh:

If we start dressing them like us then they will want to start acting like us too:smh:

Kinda looks jon benet ramseyish. I think the heels are a bit much:smh:

Those were my thoughts exactly.

I realize that, yes, House of Dereon is trying to play into the already-glamorous industry that is now out there for young children , such as the Libby Lu stores and their elaborate make-up parties for girls and the glittered mini-lip gloss sets and nail polish even sold in discount department stores like Wal-Mart. However, cutting-edge sexy lingerie? I don't recall any of this being out there for five year olds, so you'd have to give me an example of this...

I think the clothes in the second ad that Femme posted are more child-like (the big, colorful stripes; the canvas sneakers, etc.). However, never it is appropriate for young girls like that to wear heels like the one pictured in the first photo. That first ad, overall, is just atrocious. They look like mini-thug girls and, perhaps, a good Halloween costume...

not cutting edge sexy lingerie - read at the cutting edge of the fashion industry... lingerie are being made for them :(

THIS IS A DAMN SHAME!

Little girls can't even be little girls anymore.
I showed this to my sister and even she was shocked. ANd I realize where my horror comes from:

High heels were meant to push out your backside for a plumper rump sexier look. Little girls are not supposed to have tooted up asses and SEXY shoes. What is this world coming to??

-TonyaTko
Girl I kinda see what you mean. But look at the back of the heels yall. Am I the only one who used to play in my mom's heels? Maybe I'm not seeing what yall are seeing...

aside from them wearing too much make up im not bothered by it

im gladthey arent wearing halter tops and swimsuits with the sides cut out (true story)

The ad is a bit much...Especially w/ the Beyonce look alike...
Anywho it is what it is..And AD. Made to shock you into looking.
The clothes themselves are cute to me. My daughter has Dereon and Baby Phat clothes. My husband and I draw the line at Apple Bottom for her. She is too young to wear something called Apple Bottom:smh:
But yeah-the heels and makeup...A tad bit too much and reminicent(sp) of Jon Benet.:(

Dear, the way that you first wrote it did read as if you were saying "cutting edge sexy lingerie." In re-reading it, I kinda understand your point, but the syntax is somewhat poor. Not trying to knock you, but it did read very confusing.

As a person having to deal with two little girls hell no. :smh: Playing dress up is one thing having these girl children out and about like that is a no no.

from the bolded portion... you couldn't hide your Caribbean identity if you tried- thats great.

as for these clothes... they dont look too adult for me... the heals I think are interesting- its interesting they put they asian girl in the heals... I think that might appeal to the asian market... those ladies stay in heals to look taller... so they might not be as opposed to the idea of their little girls trying them on.

Um, why are the White bitches in the front while the black girl is in the back?

:hmm:The more interesting question is how you go call little girls bitches. What kind of mentality would even conceive to call ANY child no matter the colour something so derogatory.:hmm:

Um, why are the White bitches in the front while the black girl is in the back?

somehow you have to question Beyonce's fam about this shit........can't believe Kelly Rowland doesn't say shit about it

I always knew this dude was challenged. :smh:

Beyonces mama is the one who runs the show... and she is so color struck I could never support anything she directly has to do with.

But subtracting the Lost Ones from the scenario... those little girls look like tramps! I am sorry.... they marketing to the kids... but yet the kids arent the ones buying the clothes. High heels and full make-up.... are you kidding me?!

I'm not even gone touch on how we teaching our kids to be materialistic at a young age. All kids need to be focused on is school books and recess...

loll can yall tell imma be a strict mama?!
