I was reading the thread about sex slowing down after marriage and I thought of a discussion I always have with my friends.

The question is: Should a wife have sex every time her husband wants to? (and should the husband do the same?)

My answer is yes & yes as long as we're not fighting.

If a husband FORCES himself on his wife and that is not their "norm"...I mean he is taking it, no matter what...that is rape...that is not sex...because it is all about control.

If I'm having sex with my lady I need her mind in bed with me as well as her body. Why? For me nothing kills a relationship faster than emotionless sex.

The one thing that's sacred in a relationship is sex. But to "go through the motions" and not be putting your all into it is denying your man. It would be better to not have sex at all rather that take the "I won't deny my man" approach.

While I think that both partners at times should compromise and accomodate the other spouse when they may not be fully in the mood, one should not feel obligated to have sex EVERY TIME the other person wants it. If there is a true connection between the couple, one spouse should be able to truly sense their partner is really not in the mood and not insist.

If a husband forces himself onto his wife when she has stated she doesn't want to have sex, IT IS RAPE, end of story. It is not about him being horny or in need, he is a psychopath and needs to be put down, point blank.

If he feels the need to cheat to satisfy his sex need, then there are deeper problems in the marriage that need to be addressed. While important, fucking is not only reason to be married.

I have to send this to someone. I had a conversation about sex being a few months in between in the female spouse was not in the mood. Also about the lack of interest in giving head.

I guess I could understand in certain situations, but long periods without sex in a relationship (in this case marriage) is a big NO-NO in my opinion. The option of the man having a side piece was out there, though. All respect shown to the wife first and foremost.
