i see there are allot of crackkkas on this board claiming they are black. the speech told the truth. if white people use rev. wright as an excuse, that just means that they wasn't going to vote for him anyway. if barack loses, then so be it. that just means that white america is still racist.

AAA+ speech!!!

I actually think him doing this speech, aswell as the Bill Moyers interview was GOOD for Obama.

I'm proud of the Black Church / NAACP today, no matter what other direction this thing goes in. Time to show some leadership and courage, and not let the white right religious wing define faith or Christ's message.

I hope some good comes of this show of solidarity between the Black Church and NAACP.

As for Sen. Obama, no it doesnt make his job easier but its the truth, period.

His speech was brilliant!! The theme of is speech is different NOT deficient!! Some folk will not understand but MANY will. I would buy the dvd if they ever release one! His speech was very inclusive, kudos to Rev wright!! MY MAN!! :dance::yes:

Wright needs to fry the gang-bangers first before he dare critize our young men in the military and Damning our women and children.

God is trying to bless america..to bad the damned refuse to see and hear it. And of course he is not preaching/teaching a holy doctrine...just using the holy doctrine to "interpret" a living reality, like a prophet should.

Stop whorshiping God as an object for your opinion of how you believe things should be. But as a catylast for how you would want them to be.

Obama, didn't throw him under the bus, he did distance himself from though. Throwing him under the bus would've been something to the effect of "The man is obviously clinically insane, and not only do I rebuke what he says, I'm sorry I ever set foot in his church, and let him marry me, and baptize my children", something like that. He didn't do that, he still called the man family. And while I'm not exactly happy about him distancing himself, under the circumstances, I understand.

As long as people are looking for reasons to EXCLUDE, rather than INCLUDE, it makes no difference what Rev. Wright has to say, cuz if it wasn't him, they'd find something else to use against Barack.

I'm tellin' y'all, they let him get too far along in this process, he won't be stopped, he will be president.

Sir or Ma'am I worship the Father in Truth and in Spirit. I will not partake in ANY false teachings. I choose not to live in the past. I honor my ancestors, but their plight is not the same as mines.

I support Barack and have no problem with the good Rev doing what he felt was necessary at an event where he was invited to speak. Why should he change who he is for the acceptance of those who don't know him and even if they did are too narrow minded to appreciate what the hell he's talking about anyway. If folks decide they won't vote for Barack because of this guy who just said in a speech all faiths races etc will need to come together to move beyond the past then the good Rev was right all along and unfortunately Barack would have miscalculated. I'm not going to claim to know how this is going to impact the Obama campaign. It feels weird waking up to a black scholar/ theologian speaking truth to power on cnn at 5:30am EST.

Everything happens for a reason and maybe the time has come for the world to hear his message.

Sorry, but I would rather my future kids know that they can be president of this country, than for Reverend Wright to speak the "truth". I would rather change the complexion of the attitude of black people...fuck complaining about institutionalized racism and this government. That's not going to change anything.

I want millions of little black girls and boys to feel they can be more than a basketball player or rapper. That it is truely an attainable goal and not just something you see on 24.

So fuck Reverend Wright for popping up again right before Indiana...which is a huge primary.

Man that is...you say you choose not to live in the past yet you try to live by the teachings of a book that was written 2,000 yrs ago, written by men, not by god, now that's a contridiction for ya. To showcase how little you understand, why would you call God "father" a word that symbolizes a male figure head absent the "nuturing" principal of the female? Where does the feminine principal fit in to your "God the father". I'll tell ya..the term "father" did not come about until "men" began to define the figure head in a masculine sense, in other words, God had nothing to do with the debasement of the female, that is why most of the religions you have today have problems with women...and that my friend is un-godly.

And people who are truly "enlightened" want to attempt to change the corrupt nature of the few who have so much influence on the daily lives of the masses of Gods people, so by you sitting there thumpin your holy book doin absolutely nothing to expand your view of the world (which God created) with the hopes that, "God will take care of it", does absolutly nothing to bring about the change that God loves...and it does not earn you favor in it's eyes either...you know "sloathfullness" is a sin.

Yet it is more damaging to Black children to see that you have to "renounce and disagree" with yourself and your experiences to succede in this country. And imagine what it does to white children to see what Black people have to do to be accepted. It emboldens them.
