I'm curious what books you all consider worth checking out - I trust this board over the Amazon reviewers.

I know we got some intelligent people on this board - be it proper college/grad school or just straight up conscious brothers or sisters who drop into bookstores to find a good read.

Here are some books that I believe everyone should read and affected me:

informative...Rational Fasting by Arnold Ehret was a good book...

I thought about putting that down and don't get me wrong - that book is very strong - but after I read Crime and Punishment, I couldn't help but think about how Wright used a very similar theme built on by Dostoevsky.

Great book nevertheless.

About 25 years ago, my people got me a set of encyclopedia. This shit was like the internet before the internet. I learned so much from reading them joints front to back. Helped me to figure out what I wanted to do with my life before I even got to Jr. High.

But for real for real, it was a documentary that really moved me and made me know what direction my life would move in.

"think and grow rich" by Napolean Hill (taught me how to work smarter instead of harder)

"Jarhead" by Anthony Swofford. (convinced me not to join the military)

"Animal Farm" by George Orwell (showed me how full of shit the college socialist society was)

JASC learn paint shop pro in 24 hours. (Led to a good paying desktop publishing job)

New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (The one book that made me the proud atheist I am today)

I read a book Called "Fire in My Bones" right out of high school(89). Dont remember the author's name. It was about the author's life as a black man and coming out of his "self hate". I cant find that book for shit.
