That's why I made the decision to dual boot. If your on the fence about upgrading you should do the same. You can keep XP untouched while you try out Vista.
I must say Vista has been solid since I updated to SP1. Haven't received a "BSOD" crash since.

yeah...i was on another site looking at how to dual boot...and grumbling under my breath "i aint gonna do alla that shit"
but i did see a blurb about putting it on a separate hd....that looks doable...i have 4 hd's on my system, so that shouldn't be a prob...thanks for the partition link but i had a bad experience with one way back, if i give it a shot it will be the separate hd thang...thx for the links and info

VLC uses a large number of free decoding and encoding libraries. Many of its codecs are provided by the libavcodec codec library from the FFmpeg project, but it uses mainly its own muxer and demuxers. It also gained distinction as the first player to support playback of encrypted DVDs on Linux by using the libdvdcss DVD decryption library.
