I am not intending to generalize. I know there has been some support in the latino community for Obama. But the bottom line is that Hispanics have flat out rejected Obama largely because of cultural/racial bias.

One day, a serious Latino presidential contender will surely emerge and I bet you many of us will not forget what happenend with Obama. What does it say when white men are voting in higher numbers for Obama than Hispanics? Can the message be any clearer?

Anyways, just had to get this off my chest. Call me racist if you want but if I am ever alive to witness a hispanic contender for the presidency, my family and I would rather vote for Pat Buchanan/David Duke ticket than support our minortiy brethren.

This idea that a utopia will be created when all minorities unify against the white majority is simply laughable.

Politics is about making alliances with whomever can get you where you need to go.
If African-Americans can build an alliance with Whites to get Obama in to the White House, why should I be looking for an African American/Latino alliance?

I think it's a bit overstated. However, these Latinos that are voting against Obama based strictly on cultural/racial biases are very shortsighted. Don't they think it would be easier to have a Latino president if there is a black president first? It some really shameful shit.
In any event, all this represents a changing of the guard. Latinos are now the largest minority in the country. They have the numbers. It's unfortunate that a large percentage of them figure that the best way to assimilate into American culture is by shitting on black people.

He was willing to do whatever necessary to accomplish his objectives. Furthermore, are we not seeing that when push comes to shove, Hillary Clinton can be every bit as brutal as George Bush in attacking Obama?

I've talked to several Mexican immigrants who don't even have the right to vote and have lived in the States for some time, and have asked them "If given the choice, who would you vote for?". Everyone said they would vote for Hilary simply because they don't believe America will ever elect a Black president, and if they did vote for Obama, they'd see it as them basically throwing their vote away. Their words, not mine.

Now I can totally understand this point of view because Americans who have the right to vote share this same mentality. Ron Paul seemed to me, the best candidate on paper as far as the issues went. But the dude never gained any steam, and even if I were to vote for him now, it would all be for naught. I've been supporting Obama for the past few months because I find him to be the sincerest of the two Democratic candidates that I believe actually wants to, and can change shit. I also agree with the issues he stands for and favor his plans for change.

I think what you have going on in the Hispanic community is that they're voting based on feeling, and not the issues the candidates represent. Again, plenty of Americans vote like this, so I don't think it's fair to single out Mexicans because of similar voting habits. But most of the Hispanic vote that is shifting to Hilary has more to do with Hilary's familiarty (i.e. comfort) with Hispanic voters, and Bill's impact on the economy when he was still president, who will more than likely share as a major advisor if she's elected.

Both, in my opinion, are major reasons why the majority of the Hispanic vote is leaning towards Hilary, not because of cultural/racial bias.

Now I won't pretend that every Hispanic person out there isn't racist, but I don't think the main reason they're not voting for Obama is because he's Black. Many of them just don't trust the government to allow a Black candidate to be elected president. Many of them also wonder about the man's safety. We finally have a candidate of color that's worth a damn, and he not only stands a good shot at winning, but the dude comes off as genuine and his plans have some semblance of promise/hope.

Can anyone really say they don't fear for Sen. Obama's safety if he's elected? Does anyone trust the government to not fuck with the election if Obama is running against McCain?

In my own personal experience I have been cool with so many Hispanic/Latino families I really can't count them all some whole cultured and some half black and half Spanish most of them where from NY/SF and OAKLAND CA....I never felt the tension I was always respected and gave the same back....when in Northern Cali I drove through Palo Alto and I got lost trying to get back to the other side of the bay...when I got back a friend told me I was crazy and don't ever get caught alone down there they kill brothas for sport...I mistook what he was saying for some street bullshit but later I started to notice all the shootings in the paper and on the news in that area and it was always some shit just like she said Hispanic/Latino on black.

Later I lived around some Mexicans in Atlanta and they where different they never spoke, never really gave eye contact(unless to glare) and where always acting funny. They never seemed to have an answer for anything not even "You know what time it is?"

A co-worker told me they where Texas Mexicans up here for work a lot of them do not speak english and over 1/2 where illegal and their foreman or handlers encourage them not to fuck with blacks cause we where trouble and could get them fired or sent back plus we take their jobs.

That's when my eyes opened and I was like ok a lot of them are in fucked up situation or if not came from roots of fucked up situation
